You look very good. How long did it take your breasts to stop getting smaller? Thanks

Hi Laura. I've been following your journey for over a year along with having my own at the same time. Very similar experiences. I had 250cc and never adjusted to them for several reasons. After 4 months I downsized to 175cc and had immediate relief but quickly realized implants just are not for me. Anyone else would say they looked great and I agree but I was not comfortable and I don't think even giving more time would change my feeling at the core. Four month after the 175cc I removed them and had a Benelli lift. Again I felt immediate relief and comfortable. It's been 6 months now and I can solidly say I am comfortable and so glad I did it. Yes they are little but they are perky. Having bigger, more enhanced breasts was fun for me on occasion but not on a full time basis. I guess third time is a charm.

wow thats good to hear! im having doubts. im really torn right now. im supposed to have surgery this friday and i am just not 100 percent resolved. are you breats saggy? is three anyway you might send me some pics?
User Avatar

They are not saggy due to having the lift. I wish I would have gone straight to the lift in the first place. That corrected the stretch that being pregnant had caused and what had bothered me the most. They are essentially back to pre-pregnancy condition/size which is what I wanted. I didn't necessarily want bigger. I just got wrapped up in the whole process. The main difference I notice is implants definitely have a more full fill where with natural you lose that fullness. Especially on the top portion. If I ever wanted to change that I'd do fat injections to help with the size I want because I don't think I would ever be happy even with the smallest implant. It's a very hard decision process to go through. I wish you the best either way you go. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I got 24o cc yesterday an havnt stop crying since I think there enormous , I want them out , I'm broken hearted , I was a saggy 34b / c but with a good bra had a good enough shape What am I goin to do I'm devastated
April 29, 2014
Ugh I've been there sister! I'm so sorry to hear this. Listen you Never know what they're going to look like in a few months so just wait and see. Who knows maybe you like. And if you don't then you can downsizing have another surgery itself in the world. Sure you look great it could be a lot worse always just keep that in mind. Good luck

awe guys please, with all due respect... what shopgirl112 said wasn't a bad thing. It is true, some people have whats called body dismorphic disorder which is where they are never fully happy with their body and always trying to fix something. I do not think she meant any harm by that, and she was just trying to make a point. I myself am thinking of going smaller also....right now DD and I hate them. I never though I would hate having large breasts...but I do. I would love to be a small C and may have surgery. Best of luck to all of you and whatever you choose to do. Dawn

Please stop torturing yourself, you look adorable and very natural! Give your scars more time to heal, some people just take longer. Hugs
May 28, 2014
Hi Laura, I met with a Dr today and am considering getting the 120 cc implants. I want to look the way I did before having a baby. Right now it is impossible to find any bra that fits. What size were you before your first surgery. I am currently barely a full A cup.
UPDATED FROM Laura R.

11 months, and let me just tell you....

Laura R.
so i know this may be crazy. i know they look good. sooooo much better then before. but i cant help but wonder, should i have the implants removed completely? im still think they are too big. i cant help it. i still find myself frustrated with clothes and image, i have just started thinking this the past couple months. i was so happy and so relieved with them from how big they were before. but i now think i want to go even smaller. and that would mean taking them out completely since i have pretty much the smallest implants you can get - 120cc. i have to bring it up with my husband. i feel i have put him through so much with this whole process, i know he doesnt want to go through it again, but.... i want to see what he says.
what you guys think?
im just starting to miss my think athletic physique. i dont think i have ever gotten used to bigger boobs, felt comfortable, i just dont think it suits me. but i dont want to go through with another surgery!!!! UGH......
P.S. I HATE MY SCARS...... :(

Hi, did you have a uplift too as my surgeon said I can't go down in size without one. They look amazing!!.xx
February 16, 2014
Just a thought but body morphic disorder or do you want to look like a guy? Your implants frankly are super small and cosmetic surgery is an option so why did you even get them in the first place. My opinion is they look like real small boobs... But then again I don't know what you are looking for.
February 16, 2014
And one more thing your implants do look great I hope you didn't change them .. I have 500 cc and think they are too small so to each their own... I guess I have never understood why anyone would go through so much pain if they didn't want to be way bigger otherwise you could of kept your natural breasts? Anyways wish you the best with your issues and hope you find happiness w yourself!

So I'm not trying to start anything...or be a hero...but this is the first comment I have seen on this website that I feel is completely out of line. That was a little harsh to say to someone who was clearly going through a lot and people come on here for support, not to be asked if they want to look like a guy or have body moronic disorder. Are you a psychologist? I'm sorry but you have no right to say that to anyone. And if you think getting the implant size she feels is best for her will make her look like a guy? Have you seen other women's natural size breasts, especially like mine, that weren't even enough to cause protrusion from the chest and you're trying to tell someone she'll look like a guy with her smaller implants? Not everyone wants 500cc big implant boobs. Not everyone goes through the "I wish I went bigger" thought process. And not everyone is comfortable with larger sized breasts. I can completely understand where she's coming from with being used to a petite athletic frame and having bigger breasts changes that. It's a huge mental battle to go from everything being small and then suddenly boom, there's these things on your chest that make your frame look larger. I know in your second comment you were slightly more supportive and realized that everyone has their own desire for their own body, but your initial comment was just not nice and uncalled for. This site is for support, advice, and helping each other get through a very big change in our lives. Not to bring someone down and try to put a severe mental disorder on them simply because you don't agree or understand with the decisions they made. Please from now on only post positive and supportive comments so this community can remain as helpful as it is.

I completely agree with this comment. I think this is definitely a forum for positivity, not judgment.
April 8, 2017
100% agree. I totally get it. I too will either explant or go smaller. I think people just aren't comfortable with something in their body. But this site should be safe and free of any judgement. You are normal. I hope you do whatever works for you. ( or did) People think in crazy that I did it and now I hate it. I never liked it not even 1 day. :(((

Your scars will fade, you can also have laser done, yet I don't think you need it. I am planning on reducing my implants from 220 to 100. I hate my boobs right now, they are too big for my small frame. Your boobs look amazing!

It looks so natural. I think your scars are barely noticeable. Have u tried vitamin E?
UPDATED FROM Laura R.

I measured to my boobs just now and they are 8...

Laura R.

I measured to my boobs just now and they are 8 inches round, which is a B cup. When I measured them 4 days ago they were 8.5, which is a full B cup. So I think the swelling has gone down. Before downsize they measured at 9.5 inches, full C cup. So they really are A LOT smaller! im so happy. The other thing i forgot to say is I havent lost any feeling in my nipples this time around. No loss in feeling anywhere for that matter.

p.s. those measurements are with a 34inch band. This is a scale i found and go by from the "size info" online.

I had 275cc saline implants back in 8/2012. I am planning to downsize as I feel they are to large for me. I'm not really sure on how low to go. I was surprised that you went to 120cc and had such a perfect result. How did you decide on the size? They look great.
March 15, 2013
I am a lil surprised too but my ps said it would be fine. Some realselfhtbrby members said they thought I was going to small and it would look weird but I took the chance I wanted the smallest possible size, u could never adjust to the large breasts. I'm so happy now the are a full b cup and I love. I think a good size for you would be 150cc. Don't go much bigger if you want a big difference. You breast will adjust!!! Good luck
March 15, 2013
Also what really helped me decide is a did the rice test in nylon socks of the 240cc and the 120cc and felt the did fence in volume so I had a feel for the sizes. I also made a diagram with the dimensions of the implants. Very helpful to visualize. You must come to the size on your own bc the docs are so jaded when it comes to size and at they end of the day they will never care as much as you do

Laura- Wondering how your recovery is going and how you are liking the smaller size. I was a deflated 36C and only wanted to restore what I had lost not get bigger. I had 250cc implants that landed me at a 36DDD. I was unprepared for that. Not what I was expecting for that size of implant. I am strongly considering to downsize. I'm worried about the smaller implant not looking right on me due to the BWD. Your pics look great and the implants fit you perfect. Do you know what your BWD was before your first augmentation, after your 240cc's, then after 120cc's? Thanks for any input you may have.
March 29, 2013
Doing well, the areola incision recovery is a lil scary but it gets better. Couldn't be happier with the size. I'm a full b cup. I don't know my bwd before but I was a big a small b. if I were u I would definitely downsize. Best choice I've ever made. It sucks to go in for a second surgery, I know But you live and you learn and it's so worth it. There is no reason to feel uncomfortable in your body and if you do you should do something about it. I would say because you started off with a bigger size than I did that 120 cc is too small but if I were you I would go down to maybe 150/160cc somewhere in there. And make sure you get low profile!!! Hope that helps. Don't be afraid to ask me any other questions or come to me with any concerns I've done a lot of research at this point I think I know a lot about our situation. And I am so happy to help others because it's so stressful and it can be very lonely going through these things alone! this website has changed the whole experience and I'm so thankful for the community so I'm happy to give back. The key to finding the right answer when it comes to plastic surgery Is to take in to consideration what the plastic surgeon says and then Balance it out with research that you've done from women that have had real experiences. I believe the information you get from the real experiences are way more valuable.

Thank you so much for you response and willing support. This has been very stressful indeed. A lot of different emotions all tied up in this at once and its hard for anyone to relate except someone who has been through it. I don't want to have another surgery but I've also tried to except things as they are right now and it's just not me. I go in next Tuesday for my revision consult and then go from there.
March 30, 2013
What kind of implants did you have high or low profile? My PS uses only high profile and I'm not sure if that is really the best at this time. Tell me how did the diagram with the dimensions of the implants. I really need to know how you figured it out. You are right the ps does not care like we do. Sometimes I believe they want us to go to a larger size. I'm considering somewhere between 150 175cc.
March 31, 2013
Thanks for getting back to me. I was surprised that you had low profile, my ps uses high profile most of the time. He tells me that otherwise I will look llike a ball in a sock. I do trust him though, but as we know we have to make the choice. I know I have to tell him what I need. How did you find out the difference between the hp and low profile. I'm not sure how much height is added to the implant, with the hight profile. Why did you opt for the llow profile or was it suggested. I thought the difference betwween the hp and lp was minimal. Mine are 275 saline and high profile, which I believe is adding to my problem. I do not want to be this big, I just want to feel normal. Maybe you could point me in the right direction.

In my case I have Sientra 250cc Mod which have a width of 11.4 & projection of 3.3 which is actually very comparable to the Mentor Mod Plus 250s dimensions. My BWD to start with was 13.4 then after the implant the measurement is now 15.5. All in all took me from a deflated 36C to 36DDD. I've read that you want to pick an implant at least 1cm less than the BWD to decrease the chance of side boob. With my original at 13.4 and the implant at 11.4 I was at a 2cm difference. I've also read if there's too much difference that's when the tennis ball effect starts happening. I just don't know at what point that starts. If I went with the Mentor Mod standard either 150 or 170 (both are comparable in dimentions with width 10.3 or 10.5 & projection 2.5 or 2.6 respectively) then I would add an additional 1cm difference (total 3cm) to my original BWD and decrease the projection by 0.7cm. This is where I'm at so far. I go back in Tuesday to talk with my PS. Although I felt like he performed a good surgery on me technically and the results are good but certainly not what we talked about prior to surgery. It just makes me nervous because when I went in for my follow-up appt I asked how did this size of implant get me these results and he really didn't have any answer for me & when we started talking about smaller implants it sounded like he had not done ones that small before.

Hello Laura, Did you go to Dr. Freund for the 1st and another dr for the 2nd surgery. If so which one? Did you like Dr. Freund? I'm considering him for my revision and lift but not sure. Nicole N

They look great I'm so happy for you. Do you have any before photos? I was just trying to compare. Mine are currently 275cc but I'm looking forward to the downsize. I'm going on Monday to my ps to decide on the size, still a little nervous

Kathy- Did you receive any good direction on which size and profile to choose at your appointment today?
April 21, 2013
I think they look great, happy for you. I am having a revision in May and this will be the 5th surgery for me. Have 450cc it has been nothing but problems for me, just wanted to be fuller as with age they were kinda shriveling. But had problems as first year capular contracture and a rupture, done over and and think dr cut some muscle as looked kinda like double bubble and so on, last time have symnastia and a little of different problems. Now the dr says that on my left one over half is out from under muscle and when flex or move it pulls to the left armpit. Says that I need to downsize which do not have a problem with that and also put over the muscle. I may just not have anything put back in but what concerns me most is that I have no faith in ever looking normal again and hearing your story of downsizing and be happy makes me feel some what possible. I do not know what the BWD is or the rice text is. Were you afraid that after being stretched out that they might look wrinkly or any other concerns. I just want to be normal and happy not to have to stress everyday about what is going to happen, day after day, thanks

I am in the same boat as you. I got 320cc 2 months ago and stressed to my PS that because I am a runner/cyclist and do taekwondo that I need them sporty and perky. Well, I'm a 34DD at Nordstrom. Not so sporty. I'm thinking of downsizing or taking them out all together. I'm so tired of obsessing about boobs. I'm worried that if I take them out and go too small, they will look like baseballs. Yours look great. How long from first surgery before second surgery? Choosing the right size is so hard and all the girls in the office kept telling me to go much bigger than 320 because I'm 5'10" and can carry them. Well, they are heavy and huge. kudos to you for being brave to go down to 120. I think I could do 175 and be just happy. I just want small and perky. I'm even thinking of switching to saline so that I don't have to ever even think about complications from silicone as I have a girlfriend going through a major ordeal with hers. Do you feel like your skin was able to shrink right back?
June 13, 2013
Hi mommy2, sounds like you need to make a change. Wait six months. I waited a year. I wish I downsized sooner. I am such a happier person now it's crazy! I am also 510! I would go down by half which is what I did. My 120 are very small honestly anywhere bet 120-180 is gonna be small ish. I think you should get around 175 would be perfect! Do it and hurry so you can get on with your life like I did.

June 13, 2013
yes, I will be making a decision at 10 weeks so my surgery will be done at 3 months. I am thinking 175 too. Thanks for thinking that would be a great size too!! glad you are happy with your final outcome! do you feel like since the width of the implant is smaller, that you can tell the implant is little? I am worried about having golf balls... I just want smaller round mounds :-)
June 13, 2013
Did you ask the ps that question ? There is no loose skin around my implant at all.
User Avatar
June 13, 2013
I asked him about if he had to make the pocket smaller and he said no, it would probably just tighten back down and be fine in a few weeks. I just wondered how yours felt since you downsized to something much smaller.
June 18, 2013
Hi! I want to take out my 270's and thinking about getting 120. However, this would be my third time having implants done. I was at 425cc and they told me this would make me a good b cup (I had literally nothing at all before...I was flat as a wall). Then, since they cam out being a D cup, I went down to a 270cc (guess what....I'm still a D cup). I really want a small natural look, but I'm scared my boobs will look too spaced out if I get 120 and look like two balls. Your's are perfect on you!! What is your height, weight, and size around your rib cage?
