I feel like this is sponsored and dishonest content: 1. No price or experience description. 2. Pictures provided are taken inside the facility.. meaning the doctors are the ones who provided the pics... meaning the staff probably posted this.
I am the patient who posted this review. The pictures were taken by Dr Schulman in his office & given to me. I was born with an umbilical hernia at birth which decreased in size by age 2. I am 34 years old & within the last year my belly button became extremely sensitive & painful so I saw Dr Schulman for a consult & decided to go with him for the procedure. I would be happy to answer any other questions.
I had surgery with Dr. Schulman too. He is outstanding in his work. I had a botched belly button and now it looks normal. He has over 200 reviews and literally almost all are 5 stars...I traveled from Green Bay, WI to see Dr. Schulman since my belly button case seemed difficult to treat to surgeons in Wisconsin. Matthew Schulman did amazing.
Hi Aunt933, thanks for this review. Your results are gorgeous! How long did surgery take? Local or general anesthesia? Did he stitch the facial tear opening closed or use a patch or plug? Did he measure your hernia? Were you an out of town patient? How long did you have to stay? Thanks so much!!
He is truly amazing & a master at his profession! I'm so happy that you were pleased with your results as well!
Thank you so much! The surgery took about an hour & a 1/2 & was done under general anesthesia. He stitched the opening closed. His office is located in NYC & I live in NJ. I'm not sure if he measured the hernia or not. After the surgery I went into the recovery room for about a 1/2 hour & I went home right after.
I had surgery from him too. He is outstanding! I am so happy for you :)
Thank you so much! He is amazing! I'm happy for you as well :)
It looks very good!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Also how much did he charge?
$6,500
Can I ask how exactly the hernia was repaired? With mesh or just stitched? Apologies if you posted that already somewhere in here but I missed it. Thank you.
Hi, he stitched it closed with one internal stitch & the rest were external. No problem at all. I'm happy to help :)
Thank you! Can I also ask if you know how the hernia stays closed with just one stitch? Did the muscle wall grow back together? My UH is post pregnancy and looks very similar to yours which is why I am so curious. But one surgeon has said that I would need mesh (which I'm a little wary of.)
I was born with an umbilical hernia that decreased in size by age 2. It became extremely painful & sensitive. When he performed the surgery there was a little piece of fat poking thru so he used one internal stitch & the rest external. I'm not sure how it stays closed with one stitch but I'm a year out & doing great.
Thanks very much! Congrats, it looks great and also much more comfortable physically! Thanks again for answering my questions.
It's no problem at all! I'm happy to help! Thank you so much. I feel so much better! It became severely sensitive so I'm so much more comfortable now. Good luck with your surgery :)
