Review update

After posting my Initial review, Dr Roy decided to reach out and offer a “solution”. Honestly, it was not a very good one. Dr Roy went on about how my appointment was “under booked” and he was very sorry about how things had unfolded the day of my last post-op. He mentioned a zoom consultation and that he’d be happy to discuss surgical options. When I read it I was happy that he had reached out and tried to make things right but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Dr Roy never had the intention of helping me even before my last post-op.

I had reached out to him (messaged him directly) a few weeks in advance before seeing him for my last 3 month post-op letting him know how unhappy I was with the outcome. In that message, and I will gather up the information to show his credibility, he repeatedly told me how he did the best he could and that he couldn’t help me anymore. After that message I should have not wasted my time driving to San Jose for my last post-op, but I was hopeful. I thought that he might have a change of heart if I spoke to him in person. Instead he told me the same exact thing that he couldn’t help and sent me on my way with no future follow ups. Just wrong!

Fast forward to a few days after my last post-op, I decided to write a review for it’s only fair to warn others of how unethical Dr Roy is. He comes across it and reaches out for a “solution”. Why offer a solution now?! Just why? Because of my review? Because you want to save face and feel better about how you treated your patient? It’s just really wrong. I reached back out and asked if a revision would be possible, and that if that wasn’t an option I kindly asked if I could be refunded, He emails me back, dismisses my question about having a revision done, and tells me, “When the time comes and if a determination is made that you would benefit from a lower facelift or mini-lift, I’d be happy to consider this. Wishing you the best.” Huge slap in the face! Talk about adding insult to injury! First he tells me he’d be open to discussing surgical options in his first email, and now tells me otherwise because I simply asked a question in regards to a revision? and if it wasn’t possible to be refunded If he couldn’t provide a solution, all this just goes to show that his intention was never to help me because if it were he would have had his coordinator reach out to set something up as most surgeons do, and that never happened. I feel duped and let down. It’s really unfortunate and depressing to have had this kind of treatment from a doctor. I saw Dr Roy’s reviews on Google and thought to myself this is the doctor for me, but beware because sometimes it’s all just smoke and mirrors, Lesson learned.

Bad Experience

I hate to write this review because I really did like Dr Roy, but it’s only fair to share my experience. I had opted for a neck lift back in may and I had to have a revision done due to another doctor leaving me with irregularities after a simple neck lipo procedure.I’m from LA, I found him on Google, and I decided to drive 5 hours to meet with him. At first he was nice, even giving me advice on what could be done. He advised me that the best thing for me to do would be to have a neck lift. We spoke about the mid facelift which would address both the neck and mid face, but he said I could get away with just addressing the neck. I ended up opting for a neck lift and that’s when things went south. The first 3 weeks it looked great, but after the 4th week it started to fail. I decided to contact him to address my concerns. After surgery I drove to him three more times; one for the 3 week follow up, another for the 6 week follow up, and the last appointment was for the 3 month follow up. During the last appointment I expressed how I didn’t like the outcome and to my surprise he offered no resolution whatsoever.Dr. Roy said that he did what he could to help me and felt that he couldn’t do anything else. That was a huge slap in the face considering how much time and money I invested in traveling upstate to see him. It would have been nice if he would have taken that into consideration. Another thing that I thought was odd was that he did not take pictures like he usually did, he didn’t even want to follow up with me in 6 months.I found this to be strange since most doctors follow up with you at 6 months just to make sure everything is going to your liking, and if it’s not some type of resolution is offered. I even asked him if I could pay for a revision and again all he said was, “I did what I could”. I left in tears and in shock.During my initial consultation I repeatedly asked him if a neck lift would be the right way to go and he said yes. Now the neck lift turned out to be a failure and he proceeded to tell me if I had gone with the mid facelift my outcome would have been better. Why not tell me this in the first place? Why tell me this after the work you did failed? It’s really disheartening I would have respected him more if he would have said, “I didn’t know that this would happen”, instead of basically shining me off.I understand a doctor being annoyed by any patient telling them they’re not happy with the work they did, but there’s a way to address it instead of basically saying I don’t want to deal with it. Telling me he sees the problem but doesn’t offer a solution. Instead tells me to use radio frequency and tells me “I Don’t think I can do anything else to help you” I thought it was extremely rude how he just barged out of the room to see his next patient and left me there in pure disbelief. He told me he could not help me anymore. This has never happened to me with any doctor, and I’ve had my fair share of surgeries to know what professional behavior is from a doctor. Now I have to look for another surgeon to address the areas that were overlooked by Dr. Roy and try to move forward. I wouldn’t recommend Dr Roy to anyone; his demeanor and behavior after the fact is unprofessional and very disappointing.
