One month post op - bra shopping!

Pain free and happy! No more stinging nerve pain or tightness. Breasts are softer and squishier since starting the massages. And best of all- They are really starting to feel like they are apart of me! Very happy with the size and think they fit my body perfectly. Hubs is in love with them. Also, Went to VS and never in my life has bra shopping been so fun!! 32 D fit best :-D

Week 3 Post Op

Day 15 -21 went to my 2nd post op appt and met with my surgeon instead of the nurse. She said everything looks great! I am cleared to now sleep on my side as well as wear any bra that is comfortable. She said for the next month I should continue to tape my incisions but not needed to be done 24/7 (ie not when I’m sleeping if I want.)

Dr also showed me massages to help soften up the implants. I was surprised by how hard/firm of a massage (squeeze) is needed. Ouch! After only a few days of massaging I started noticing a difference! My boobs are feeling softer every day. Also they are starting to feel less foreign and more like mine. I’m getting to the point where I’m not constantly thinking about them or noticing them every other minute. Feeling very happy with my decision.

Week 2 post Op

Day 9 I had a hair appt and didn’t have a clean sports bra ao I left the house wearing one of my lace bralettes. The girls looked so good but about an hour after putting it on my sternum area started to really hurt - totally wasn’t enough support! 2 hours into my balayage and I was so ready to get home and put on a sports bra!!! Goes to show that I really need the support and compression right now.

Day 10-13 have been pretty vanilla. Completely off all medications. Pretty much back to my usual routine. Have been able to do laundry, dishes, cook, drive. Vacuuming was too much and cutting pizza too ironically! The only weird body sensations I have felt this week have been a little tingling/ itching at my incisions. I have had previous surgeries before so it’s a familiar healing feeling. The tightness is getting less and less and I’m starting to not notice them as much. I have most of my arm range back now too! Can lift arms up almost completely - at least high enough to finally shave my armpits. (Whew. Thank goodness. It was really starting to bug me!! Ha.) best of all bruising is gone now! Yay!!!

I go back Thursday for my second post op appt. this time I’m supposed to see the Dr. (just saw nurse at first week post op) Will ask her about her feelings on breast massage. Also want to ask how much longer I will need to tape my incisions. They don’t bother me really. Just curious.
