Pre-Op
I was supposed to be 3 weeks out from my BL/BA today. But they took me off the OR schedule since it's unknown whether my biopsy and result will happen in time. As it turns out, I couldn't get a biopsy appointment until the day before I was scheduled for my surgery. Very disappointing and stressful. Life has been nothing but phone scheduling and visiting doctors and hospitals this month.
So in the end, as long as everything comes out okay with the biopsy, I'm probably looking at the end of April or early May for my surgery now and still be healing for part of summer. There are worse things. My fingers are crossed that it comes back benign. I hear the majority do.

3-1/2 weeks out....surgery may need to be postponed
I have my pre-op appointment with Dr. Glatt tomorrow, but upon having my mammogram, they found an abnormality. I've been through a repeated mammo, ultrasound that found nothing, appointment with a breast oncologist who says it seems like a fairly common thing that would be always benign, but she wants to make sure, so gave me a script to get a better ultrasound and then for a biopsy to be sure at the hospital where I'd be having my surgery. The oncologist operates with my PS often, so I felt good about going to her for this. But I can't get an appointment just for the ultrasound until March 13th, 7 days before my surgery. Then I'd need a biopsy and to wait several days for the results. It's looking like my surgery may have to be postponed. This is so stressful and heartbreaking. It took me 7 years to decide to finally do this. It may seem silly, but I've shed more than a few tears and broke one remote control over this in the past week. not to mention that I have limited insurance and have to self pay for all of these tests, so I've already put out $1500 extra because of this and will probably have to put out another $1500 before it's all said and done so I can move forward with surgery. This is becoming far more expensive than originally planned and it's quite upsetting.
