Mommy Makeover: A Year Out & Would Do It Again In A Heartbeat!

Just to set the preface of my review, I am an RN and have been for 15 years, so I knew what I was looking for in a surgeon and I knew what questions to ask to make the best, knowledgeable decision for myself. I had a complete mommy makeover with tummy tuck, muscle repair, lip to flanks, breast lift, and implants. And this is my story.

I started searching for my "mommy makeover" surgeon in August 2022. I talked to multiple surgeons and got multiple quotes (some of those quotes came in via text without laying eyes on me). Most of the surgeons that I talked to tried to schedule me for the next week! As a nurse, I knew immediately this is NOT the type of person I wanted operating on me.

I was told about Dr. Rahban by a friend of a friend. I reached out to her, not because I thought she had any plastic surgery, but I knew she was well connected and likely had heard of who was good, and better yet, who to avoid. She told me she had a mommy makeover performed by Dr. Rahban and I was floored. She said it was the best decision she ever did for herself. She also stated the recovery was not easy and that she would recommend staying at an after care facility if at all possible.

Having just learned about her experience, I reached out to Dr. Rahban right away. His office was able to get me in relatively quickly. His consult did cost, but the retainer went towards surgery should I decide to book. The upfront cost was not a deterrent for me, it just reassured me that he takes his job and his time seriously. My day came for my consult and my husband and I both went to the appointment. Dr. Rahban spent at least 45min. with me listening to what I wanted and talking about what my options were. He told me the good, the bad, and the ugly. All of my questions were answered and I felt very comfortable with him. His knowledge in what he does is outstanding. He drew me pictures and talked to me about why one way would work and why another wouldn't. **One major question I wanted an answer to was "Who closes me after surgery?" and his response was, "ME!" He is meticulous with closing so you have minimal, dare I say "pretty scars." My husband and I were then at ease and ready to book. We went to talk to Sally and talked about the cost and booking. Dr. Rahban was already booking out to February of 2023, (which to me was a good sign). I ended up booking my date for February 10, 2023.

Thirty days prior to my surgery I went back to Dr. Rahban's office to get my pre-op lab/paperwork. I also booked a 3 night stay at a plastic surgery recovery suite. At that pre-op appt. I had my mom and mother-in-law come with me since they would be assisting and caring for me at home. Dr. Rahban once again spent a good 30-45min. with me making sure I was mentally ready. Both my mom and mother-in-law were also blown away by his professionalism and thoroughness. I picked up my post-op meds. and was sent home with "homework" to pick out my "perfect breasts" to email to him so he would have an idea of what look I was going for.

Surgery day came and I was so excited. I was the only patient scheduled for that day. Once again Dr. Rahban made me feel like I was the most important person. Prior to walking into the surgery suite he marked me up and took pictures. He also did more education with me and reviewed my ideal breast size to be sure I knew what I wanted. The surgery lasted around 7ish hours. I was picked up by the car service for the recovery center and taken there. I honestly can't recommend going to a recovery center!!! I honestly believe (other than having a fantastic doctor) this is why my results are so phenomenal. I stayed there for 3 nights. They had all the amenities one would need following a complete mommy makeover. Once my stay was over, I followed Dr. Rahban's instructions to a "t." My recovery was amazing. I never had any issues at all. I healed wonderfully and without complications.

At my 6 week appt. I was able to start resuming normal activities. I am someone who is extremely active and I like to workout. I resumed my Orange Theory classes at 6 weeks post-op. I am now 1 year out and I've never felt better.
