I am so excited to have scheduled my tummy tuck and breast augmentation for this fall! This site has helped me tremendously so I wanted to share my experience and journey in hopes of helping others.
I have 3 kids and have breastfeed for a combination of 5 years. I have been pregnant or breastfeeding without a break for over 7 years. I weaned my last child 4 months ago and now that I’m done having babies I started looking into surgery right away!
I am a very fit person. I workout 4-5 days a week and eat well. I have worked out during every pregnancy and soon after delivery but my belly has stretched and lost tone and no matter how much I work out I still look pregnant at the end of the day. I can make my stomach flat and have a little 4 pack when I flex my stomach but if I let it hang loose I have a belly with a lot of extra skin and stretch marks. I just want to be able to have a flat belly without having to suck it in all day long.
I have always had small breasts and never really thought about them too much until after breastfeeding for so long. Now I have even smaller breasts and they are empty and saggy. I am looking forward to having full perky boobs! I am not trying to go too big on the boobs but I definitely want to feel sexy and proportionate with the rest of my body.

This is me now. I’ve been working out hard these past year. My surgery is in 12 weeks and I can’t wait! My goal is to keep working out hard these next few weeks and be in as great shape possible so that my results are the best they can be! I took pictures from each pose both flexing and not flexing my ab muscles.

Consultations

I have had 3 consultations. The first surgeon was a total no for me right away.

The 2nd doctor is the most popular doctor where I live and he seemed great and has great reviews but I was very discouraged when he looked at my belly and said I’d definitely need a large vertical scar, in addition to the horizontal TT scar, because he thought I didn’t have enough skin to get all the way down. That really bummed me. In looking at his before and after pictures I can see that a lot of his patients have vertical scars. Maybe he is just more conservative in cutting less skin and not stretching as much? I’m not sure.

The 3rd doctor is out of state (4.5 hours driving). He has amazing reviews and pictures so I decided it was worth going there for a consultation. He made me feel so comfortable and assured me I wouldn’t need a vertical scar and that he could get the horizontal scar very low and right above my pubic hair line. He showed me exactly where he would place the scar and how much skin he would be able to cut away. He also doesn’t use drains in either TT or BA. Which I’m excited about. He is very confident in the results he gets using tissue glue in Tummy tucks instead of drains.
They all quoted me around the same price give or take a couple hundred dollars. The out of state doctor was the most expensive but not by much. I decided to go with the out of state doctor because I felt more confident in him. I am really excited about the results he says he can give me.

My surgery is scheduled for November 8th!! Can’t wait! Since my youngest kid is 2 and still needs to be picked up and held quite often my wonderful mom is going to come help me for 3 weeks and my husband will take a week off as well if needed so that I have full time help for 3-4 weeks.
