TT at 187 Lbs After 100 Lbs Weight Loss and 3 Babies - Miami, FL
ORIGINAL POST
Hi everyone I decided to post my experience...
WORTH IT
Hi everyone I decided to post my experience because I know how much it helped me when I was looking for answers. I found it difficult to find many post on ppl whom got a TT at 180 lbs + who had massive weight loss and for that reason I decided to post. Alrhough I had my surgery just 4 days ago I feel I'm going to be happy with the results keeping in mind I'm extremely swollen specially on my right side more than my left but I had more fat and hanging skin on that side so it makes sense I will post before and after pics . If you have any questions please feel free to ask !!!!

Swelling
Hi everyone I'm doing good have had some issues with my BB I had some stitches open and a bit of infection which I'm dealing with. however the part that seems most worrisome to me is that pants that fit me when I had the flab now don't close also I have one side a lot bigger than the other. I'm told it's swelling but scared it's not. I've tried looking up pics of post op swelling but have had no luck . Is it possible to swell so much ur bigger than u were pre op ? I mean I know he took off a significant amount of skin I see it but this supposed swelling is terrifying me !!!! When I touch my tummy the skin feels flabby and soft is this swelling ?

You may be needing a tight garment at all times. You should ask your doctor. The garment will help keep your skin tighter to your body.

Did you try posting pics and telling them about the swelling in the "ask a dr" section? I've seen some great feedback given there!

You look really good, but that would be understandably be frustrating. I'm still in the research phase of all of this, so I don't have anything more than that suggestion to offer you. Hopefully if you post there you're able to get some feedback that helps in addition to that of your surgeon's, and it is just swelling from it still being early. You're doing great!

I still wear the Velcro binder (yes, that one; bought a new one and now I am in my second one) at night most nights. It is tremendous. I wear the compression garment 2-3 days per week. I use arnica and it is a wonder healer. I use the gel for topical and I take the pellets. Has your surgeon spoken to you about massaging yourself? The swelling is due to the changes inside that make the fluid more difficult to drain since your tendons and nerves are still reattaching, at least that is what I believe from my doctor. Stay positive and celebrate your accomplishment. Don't forget where you started.

hi, we had our surgeries around the same time, you look fantastic. I was really swollen last week and better this week, I still wear my binder at night, tried spanx last night to sleep in since PS told me to try that, and wear my compression garments all day long, I got a variety of them and I like Marena and Leonisa best over spanx but a bit pricier but I feel the difference in my swelling with them. congrats and you are looking fantastic!

Hi honey. Yes we all went through swell hell. It's all part of the healing process. Stay in close touch with your doc and he or she will guide you through any rare complications. I'll be happy to answer any questions I can and I've been through two tucks. First one the doc failed to include muscle repair so I chose new surgeon to redo. My story is at this site if you want to read it. You look great. Just remember your before pics. If you need revision later that is possible but don't concentrate on that now. Just heal and know that others have been where you are now, unsure at this early point ("FUD" which means fear uncertainty & doubt). . It is way too early in your recovery to judge anything. Congrats on the weight loss. Quite an accomplishment. Take care and I'm praying for a good result for you. BJ
