Great Consultation
I have consulted with over 7 doctors in the Miami area and Dr Perez-Gurri was the first doctor I had consulted with and ultimitaley is the one I felt was best for my TT AND MR. He is a very kind doctor and took his time with me. Also his office and surgery center is very clean and his staff is very professional and sweet. To make a long story short I am 33 5'4 125 lbs. I have had 2 csections and one emergency hysterectomy and small bowel resection of which I spent 2 weeks in the hospital with a very difficult recovery. My children are 6 years old and 20 months old. And I am 9 months post op emergency abdominal surgery. I was very hesitant to go through with a TT after such a traumatic experience but my left over skin and scar from belly button to my csection line has really bothered me. I lost a ton of weight was 145 prior to pregnancy, 180 pregnant and worked out very hard and made a lifestyle change when it came to food to be sure I was at my ideal weight before jumping into another surgery by choice but the pouch just wont go. I am very thankful to God for everything and my recovery and I am praying all goes well with my TT because I am very nervous. I am 4 days pre op Drainless TT and MR and because I am so thankful to all of you who have posted on RealSelf your experiences and pics (which I have read and researched through for 2 years now) I am hoping my experience helps others as well. Will follow up with more.....

Here are some before pictures i took. The middle one is actually what i think i will look like post op, im just pulling the extra skin up and holding it ????. I have all my meds ready, cough drops ( cause ive been warned to try not to cough), stool softner, tylenol 500 mg ( for getting off narcotics asap), my bag with clothes, frozen premade food, Chicken soup and whole wheat crackers for right after, lift chair and mini fridge in the room ( to avoid going out of the room to often since my 2 yr old will want me to carry him everytime he sees me and i will feel bad not to ????). I am super nervous and there are times I just want to cancel. Like why would i put myself through this. But i dont remember the last time I wore normal underwear instead of granny panties to tuck my extra pooch in. I feel like im just carrying extra baggage and i also miss having a belly button instead of a sad face with a line going straight down the middle. I feel sometimes selfish and at other times emotional cause i deserve to be able to feel like i have deserved it after everything i have been through and how hard i worked to lose the extra weight. Im not trying to look like jLo or a model just look more like my better self. Its more like recunstructive surgery then plastic surgery to me. Im very thankful to my family for being supportive. I love them with all my heart and feel bad to ask them for help while i recover but i they are being so kind and helpful and they know how much that means to me. Im going to try not to think to much about it and just go for it tommorow cause i know deep inside i really want to. will post on the day of....

Good luck to you on your big day. You will find yourself on a rollercoaster of emotions, I did too. Stay focused on the prize at the end, it will help you get through. You will be so happy you did it. It was the best thing I did for myself and I love having my confidence back. And the sexiness. God Bless

Surgery Day

Hi all! I went to my doctors surgery center by 7 am. They did a pregnancy test and had me change into a gown. The doctor made me stand up straight and drew on me. They asked me medical history and confirmed my procedure. Dr Alonso was my anesthigiologist. He was very nice and made me laugh. He mentioned the MR might make me feel like i cant breath well but luckily i can breath perfectly, i was worried about that. He put my IV , im a hard stick but he got it on one shoot ?. He gave me HAPPY JUICE and next thing you know I wake up! I was like hmmmmm I wonder when they are gonna take me to the operating room lol then I realized the surgery was over. I started feelling an extreme burning sensation so they gave me 1500 mg of tylenol. I was not expecting the burning feeling , it was like my tummy was on fire, and it wasnt the MR that really bothered me. I can almost stand straight. I got home by 11 am. I am taking my pain med right on schedule cause i start getting the burning feeling. A little nasuea so i take the med for it and feel fine. No drains and so happy i was a candidate for it it was worth the extra money. Went to the bathroom alone, the lift chair/ recliner was a great idea. Not to hungry, ate some nuts n cheese. Hope my recovery gets better from here cause i worry i will feel worse tommorow really praying wont be the case... ttyl

Congrats! Just stay on top of your pain meds and deplete sodium as much as possible, rest A LOT, walk for stiffness, and you will be on the go real soon! Best wishes.

Yes it’ll go away. I was dizzy for the first 24 hours as the general anesthesia wore off. Join my tummy tuck support group online if you’d like to follow other women on their journeys. Just search tummy tuck support group on FB if interested. Best of luck!
