I am very happy I had this surgery done. I am a 67 year-old female who suffered pain from existing scars, particularly abdominal bowel surgery 3 years ago. I met Dr. Adam Oppenheimer 1 year ago and was directed to him for advice regarding my stomach scar pain. I was unable to button my slacks without sharp and annoying pain at my belly button area. I could not wear a belt without soft cotton cloths tucked in at my waist.

Dr. Oppenheimer first recommended a scar cream which I used to no avail. In early October he injected 8 shots in the area which did make me feel better for a while. He inserted a second set of shots one month later. This helped enough that I was more comfortable for a few months.

In April of this year I started asking about abdominal surgery; a tummy tuck in my lower abdomen. Dr. Oppenheimer was very patient with my decision process and we finally set the surgery date to June 23, 2014 at the Apollo Surgery Center.

Overall rating

It has been 5 weeks and I have been treated well with the utmost of care by Dr. Oppenheimer along with his very qualified RN nurse, Christina, who answered many questions and then would call me back again after she verified Dr. Oppenheimer's comments which were very often identical to hers. Their team handled every aspect with professionalism and much concern for me as their patient. Because of my Type 1 Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease, I felt the team was always on my side. Dr. Oppenheimer is up to date in his knowledge and he used pain blocks in my abdomen, which allowed my recovery to go faster. He and his staff made themselves available to me during recover and I would say this helped ease my mind. A little aside, I am now wearing size 4 slacks!!!
