Revision Rhinoplasty, Well Worth It! - Melbourne, AU

My natural nose was not only big but also bulbousy. I had my first rhinoplasty to get rid of the bulbous tip and therefore get rid of my 'big nose'. The result was what I asked for, my nose was a lot slimmer and pointier, however it only accentuated the fact that I had a deviated septum (something that the bulbous tip had covered so I didn't realise). I was frustrated that my original surgeon had failed to mention this, of course I didn't want to be left with an uneven nose! I had my second consult with Dr Chris Moss and knew right away that having a revision was what I wanted to do. I had slight bone work at his suggestion (note: my nasal bone was fine, very straight and pretty however a slight shaving would balance it out with the fact that I needed to build my right side up), a graft built to build specifically my right side up, septoplasty to straight the septum and ease breathing and the tip refined as much as possible. I wore a cast for a week and then a week of taping. I was still very swollen going back to work at 2.5 weeks but thats just me, I bruise and swell easily so I knew to expect that. Also the fact that it is a revision it swells for longer. I am now 4 months and 1 week post op and so so happy (and better looking ;) ). I still have swelling, the final result will show in 12-18 months but hands down the only regret I have is not doing it sooner. :)
