After a good 15 year run & a pregnancy it was time to get my implants replaced. Back in the day I had 360cc one one side and 290cc on the other and this was perfect to balance the asymmetry, but now years later they were too small for my frame and I wanted to replace them now, rather than wait for something to rupture or encapsulate.

Speaking to Richard he suggested this time around I consider the teardrop implant but also said before operating I had to get an MRI to check for any ruptures or cancer or anything. Best to know what he would find BEFORE I was on the operating table right?

After being given the all clear, I had a second appointment & Richard mentioned I didn't have any side boob so with a wider implant I would get a really nice side profile. We decided to go up in cc's slightly, as my breasts had grown since baby so I had a bit more room in the pocket.

He did mention he would order a few sizes implants to see what looked best but he didn't understand why I had two different sizes implants in. I explained the asymmetry situation at this time. He looked at my right breast and said he would push that pocket down a little and of course have to widen each pocket on the side to accommodate for these new side boobs!

I also opted to have some lipo between my legs. He said if I walked in off the street and was asking for just the lipo, I wouldn't have been a candidate but seeing as i was going to be under anaesthetic then he would proceed.

Leading up to the surgery I called the clinic to ask if there was any compression garment required (in particular for the lipo) and was told I would just be bandaged at the hospital.

On the day itself I felt good going in. I woke up feeling groggy. No pain in the breast as such, I guess that's because there was already a pocket where the previous implant had been.

Richard visited me while I was in recovery and said he put 460cc in each breast. I also found out I had 300cc taken out of each leg with the lipo. The hospital didn't bandage up my legs or put on a compression garment which I found strange but was reassured this was normal.

I left hospital and lay in bed for a week. Was told I could take my elastic bandage bra off to shower. Was still feeling weird about not having a compression garment on my thighs so I contacted the surgeons office and was told that Spanx would definitely help with any swelling. As I could barely walk, I had to send my partner out on a mission to find some!

After about 10 days I started to wonder if Richards decision to put the same sized implant in each breast was the right idea, given we had discussed asymmetry. One of my breasts definitely looks fuller and has side boob, while the other doesn't.

I contacted the nurses at Richards office who asked if I wanted to come in in case it was a seroma but I didn't think it was that so I said I would hold off. I'm really hoping that it's just swelling and they will both look symmetrical by the time I get to my 6 week appointment. Admittedly I'm freaking out a bit as my first set of breasts were identical due to the two different sized implants but I'm just going to hold off on the full blown panic, although I've shown a few people and they can all see what I'm talking about.

The nurses did say that he can replace one if necessary. Maybe I'm just panicking for now, I'll wait and see. Fingers crossed it all works out!

As for the lipo, well I definitely didn't prepare myself for how tired I would be. As you can see from previous reviews I've had lipo before but it was nothing like this. Maybe it's because it's in my inner thighs and that connects to your groin and affects how you sit etc (going to the toilet was fun!). Either way at this point it's too early to see major results, but I can see it's thinned out a bit. I'm just looking forward to getting back in the gym and getting my body back to a nice shape.

check out my other review as this situation had to get fixed and it was very traumatising! I go into detail as to how I didn’t feel listened to. It still upsets me. They did eventually fix it, but I was made to feel like this was all in my imagination and also comments made about prev surgeries I’d had with a different surgeon.
