8 day post op update

I had a tummy tuck with lipo of my abdomen, love handles and Bra rolls with a Brazilian butt lift on 10/11/17. They removed about 5 pounds of skin and liposuctioned almost 5 liters. 1200cc of fat was transferred to one of my buttocks and 1400cc to the other. I am 8 days post op. I had my first post op appointment with Dr.Setty on day 5 after Surgery. Everything is healing well. I hav to keep my drain in until the output was less than 30cc in a 24 hour period ( which we most likely will be removing my drain tomorrow????). I have no regrets (other than while I was on my emotional roller coaster you understand just keep reading) about having this surgery! I can see swelling getting better each day that passes. I am so pleased with the fact that my bra rolls have disappeared. My back is so flat. My waist looks defined. I still have swelling that will go away with in the next couple of months. My abdomen is still very swollen, so I am excited to see how it looks once swelling starts going down. But, I can already see a big difference. My scar was placed every low, which I am very happy with. I’m happy about starting my scar therapy next week called Embrace strips for 8 weeks and then I will be doing some MicroNeedling treatments to help my scar heal as light and smooth as possible. My buttocks still has swelling and I have seen some of the volume come down which is expected.
Now for some must knows about what you will be facing emotionally during recovery.
Recovery has been a is a roller coaster. I think I can say my recovery has been pretty smooth. So, when I say a roller coaster I mean a roller coaster of emotions. The fist 5 days are the hardest. In my case the hardest part was finding enough pillow to help me be as comfortable as possible taking in mind that I’m bent forward and can put pressure on my buttocks. So that was really hard, stressful and frustrating! Then days 6-8 you start feeling normal again, little by little. Today is my day 8, I am no longer taking any medication other than the Lovenox injection. I drove my car for the 1st time after surgery. I made a light breakfast (omelettes),I’m walking almost completely upright. It doesn’t hurt that much when I move position or get up from a laying down position. I’m. It having to depend on other as much. I have had terrible back pain the whole time after. My back pain has been my main source of pain and it’s what I’ve complained the most about. Today I haven’t complained as much and can tolerate it a lot better. So you for sure will have your good days and you will have your bad days. I just keep telling my self each day will be better, and so far it has.

I was super nervous the days before my surgery. I...

I was super nervous the days before my surgery. I was scar d of how much pain I would be in, how long I would really take to recover, is my house gonna fall apart?! The one thing that I was not nervous about is would I like my results, would I be okay during Surgery. I had selected my plastics surgeon Dr.Setty about 2 years ago when I started my weight loss journey. I worked with his wife for a pediatric primary care clinic for many years, so I knew about him. I did my research checking reviews, seeing that he is double board certified, checked out his before and afters. So feeling so confident in who my surgeon was made me be more calm.

I had surgery on 10/11/17. I am 3 days out and super excited to see my end results. I underwent a Tummy Tuckeith Lipo of my abdomen, love handles, and bra rolls and had some of that fat transferred to my buttocks for a Brazilian butt lift. I do have discomfort, but it well controlled with pain medication. The hardest part so far is finding a comfortable position because I can only lay on my side and sit on a cushion called a booty buddy that help keep pressure from buttocks. Sitting is not comfortable at all right now. It make my lower back hurt a lot. So I have been laying my my sides. I’m alternating every couple of hours, as my sides can’t take me laying my on them longer. I have swelling and bruising as to be expected. Today is day 3 and I am moving with a lot more ease. I am using a walker to help me get up, walk around and to sit back down. I would highly highly recommend anyone going through a Tummy Tuck to make sure they have one because it helps keep all that pressure from your back and you feel more secure.
