Bilateral Mastectomy + Nipple/areola Graft (Top Surgery) + MicroAire Liposuction
Dr Manish Sinha is a brilliant and incredibly skilled surgeon! I had a Bilateral Mastectomy, nipple/areola graft (top surgery), and MicroAire liposuction with Sinha in February 2024. The entire experience, from the initial consultation to my last interaction with Dr Sinha, was positive, effective, and seamless. My feedback is long and detailed because I struggled to find much information online when I initially considered Dr Sinha, and I know I would have found this level of detail helpful. Prior to choosing Dr Sinha, I had consultations with two other surgeons. What stood out with Dr Sinha was how well the consultation went, how easy he is to talk to, his lack of barriers i.e. waiting time/BMI restriction (my BMI was close to 40 at the time of surgery).
I discovered Centre for Surgery through a Google search and reached out to them when I saw that they offered the surgery I was looking for. Within a week of my initial contact in October 2023, I was offered a consultation with Dr Sinha and was impressed by his approachability and friendliness. Initially, I had reservations due to the lack of online reviews regarding the specific surgery I wanted. While I eventually found Dr Sinha's Instagram profile, the absence of top surgery before/after photos and encountering hurtful comments from other people in response to a previous transgender patient's surgery was disheartening. Despite this, during my consultation, Dr Sinha showed me some before and after photos of people with a similar body shape to mine and this was reassuring. I appreciate that all great surgeons have to start somewhere, and I trusted his competence; even if I was one of his first top surgery patents, I was confident he knew what he was doing. Dr Sinha offered me a surgery date within three weeks of the consultation. Although I chose to postpone the procedure for personal reasons, the booking process, led by Lidia at Centre for Surgery, was smooth and accommodating. The total cost, including MicroAire Liposuction, was £14,000 with a convenient interest-free 12-month payment plan option.
There is a Travelodge within a 10 minute walk of Centre for Surgery and I had a fairly cheap and pleasant couple of nights there during the initial recovery from surgery before travelling home. The day of the procedure itself went exceptionally smoothly, despite it being a bit of a blur! The attentive nursing team managed my pain effectively and were there to answer any questions I had. I was advised that my drains would be removed the following day, but in reality, they weren’t removed until day 11 post-op, so that was a bit frustrating, however the daily (virtual) check-ins from the nursing staff were greatly appreciated. My recovery progressed well, I was given thorough aftercare instructions and a detailed timeline of what I could expect to do when (in terms of return to work and physical exercise).
During my 3-month follow-up appointment, I discussed a concern about a cyst near one of the scars, to which Dr Sinha graciously offered to remove this for free at his clinic in Soho. The procedure, under local anaesthetic, was efficiently handled, and Dr Sinha's reassuring demeanour that put me at ease. I am now five months post-op, and my confidence has soared in a way that I never imagined. I am delighted with the results; my scars are thin, even and my nipples are symmetrical. I wasn’t expecting to feel comfortable being shirtless in public for at least a year but I have been swimming in the public pool many times, and I’ve been to the beach, although I did put my shirt back on fairly swiftly as I was worried about getting sunburnt.
I wholeheartedly recommend considering Dr Manish Sinha if you want top surgery!
