In LOVE with Microneedling!!!

So, I bought one of those GloPro microneedling rollers from Nordstrom and used it nightly for about a week. I did notice that it woke my skin up and I had a bit more "glow" than usual. So I started to read about the difference between the at-home devices vs the "in office" treatments. Apparently they don't even compare in terms of the result you will get, because the needles on the at home versions are too short to really penetrate and make a difference. So I decided spring for a few treatments. (Side note: the GloPro at home roller DOES hurt despite user reviews. I had to do deep breathing when I would use it.)
Anyway on to the in-office procedure. I arrived, had numbing cream applied and sat around for 30 mins while it did it's thing. The whole procedure took about 10-15 mins top and I didn't feel any pain. The only annoying part was near my nose where the vibrations are super strong, and on my high cheek bone area where I don't have much fat. It didn't hurt, it just kinda freaked out me out because I felt like we were hitting bone. I left super red and was like that for the rest of the evening.

The at-home tools have shorter needles that are designed for frequent use. Shorter needles mean you can microneedle more often and no downtime, unlike the doctors, visit where you surely will have a few days of downtime. If the GloPRO woke your skin up and gave you more glow than it did its job.

I bought my GloPRO at Neiman’s and ended up loving it. I am very skeptical about these type of tools, but I have heard so many good things about microneedling that I wanted to try it. I love that there is no downtime, you can do it at home with minimal discomfort as long as you put no pressure, just use the weight of the tool, and it is easy to use at great price. I feel safe using it, and it gives me results. My skin has improved so much. I have problems with large pores, but this device has worked its magic. It also adds volume, my skin feels and looks healthier. One day I forgot I was not supposed to exfoliate before using GloPRO and my skin felt a little too dry afterwards, so no exfoliation before. One other thing I would say to keep in mind is that you can have a tingling sensation if you sweat within a day of using it. I went to the gym and felt it on my face and neck. It is just the salt in sweat. Other than a little redness right after using it and the episode of dryness when I used it after exfoliating, I have not had any issues and definitely think it is worth every penny. You do have to be consistent. I use it 4 times a week. I like to do a lot of research before I embark on something and GloPRO was really the best option I found when it comes to home microneedling!

I’m with you on the profound effects of microneedling. It’s the saving grace or the holy grail of facial treatments. My skin is glistening. I had two sessions and then my third was PRP. I just felt my pores are definitely less pronounced and my brown sun spots have dissipated. I’m going to do microneedling twice a year for maintenance. You do look lovely!!

I had my second treatment on April 4th. She definitely cranked it up a notch because I was pretty bloody by the time she was done (and that was without PRP!) I left looking like freddy, and it stayed that way until the next day. Day 2 I was less red, and by day 3 I could wear makeup to cover any residual redness. By week 2 I had the most unbelievable glow!!! My skin is baby soft, my small breakouts on my forehead and chin/jaw area have pretty much vanished and my skin texture is more even and smooth! All my friends have commented how great my skin looks! :-) Can't wait for treatment 3!!!

So, basically, I am in love with microneedling and will probably do this every 4-6 weeks from here on out. I joined a skin club at Dr. Anton's office where for $149 per month you get a "collagen building" facial of either an Oxygeno (sp?) Facial, Microneedling or an IPL. Well worth it in my opinion! Basic topical facials at spas are roughly the same cost and don't do much to change your skin. The Microneedling is a total game changer and my products (Vitamin C serum + Wrinkle/Eye creams) are penetrating so much better now! I'm 37, don't do Botox and probably won't ever, so long as I continue to get these results!
