I have had thinned out hair at the crown , top and forehead for the last ten years. I tried a lot of medications like Minoxidol, expensive shampoos and even Propecia years ago with little to no result. This year, I did more research on hair transplants as I was convinced this was the only way to go and so I went to two other doctors for consultations before coming to NHI for a consult with Dr. Pak. The consultation with Dr. Pak was supportive , educational and validated my decision on hair transplant and the best method for my situation, which was strip harvesting. Dr. Pak did not seem rushed in answering my questions, concerns. He was very professional , answer every question in detail and I felt what he presented was realistic, honest and what is the best for my thinned out head, NOT necessarily what might be best for the office's bottom line, as I felt at other offices. The office staff is very friendly and positive. This was the deal clincher and so I scheduled for the procedure before leaving as I was confident this office was the one for me. Also, what helped in my selection was Dr. Pak was co-author of the book Hair Loss and Replacement for Dummies and has many years experience in transplants. Ask the office for a copy and you should read it before making a decision.

Dr. Pak and his assistants Carolyn and Emma worked on me from about 7:30AM to around 3PM with about 45 minute break for lunch, which they brought in for me. The original plan was for 2000 grafts with a possible 2nd transplant later in a few years only if I feel I wanted one. The procedure went well, the staff were all very nice and made sure I was comfortable. At the end of the prodecure, I was informed they actually were able to harvest 1750 grafts instead and would credit and refund me the overpayment, which I appreciated their honesty. I am a dentist who does dental implants so I do understand that sometimes it is impossible to get exactly what was calculated pre-surgery and better to be wise and exercise good judgement during the procedure than be aggressive and possibly do damage to the patient, should a second procedure is warranted or desired later. It is now 1 month since the transplant and I can't wait to see new hair grow in , in the next several months. Again, the office here is very attentive and supportive before, during and after the procedure. You can email or call them and they will answer your questions. I do recommend getting the free consultation and meeting and talking to other patients who had the procedure done and ask as many questions as you want. They give you the facts , the proofs of previous patients results and then allow you to make an informed decision , and therefore easier for you to get the procedure you know you wanted a long time ago and you finally feel you're at the right place with the right doctor. Good luck!
