At age 24, I noticed small itchy papules that look like small pimples around my oral nasal area. I was prescribed several antibiotics to treat what several dermatologist diagnosed as acne-like skin inflammation. When I would discontinue the antibiotics, my skin would flare up. And years later, I went to seek another opinion on my case. Dr. Ulmer in Long Beach, CA looked at my skin under a magnifying glass and immediately diagnosed me with gram negative folliculitis in addition to an inherited case of psoriasis, and he explained that the over use of antibiotics was the primary cause of gram negative folliculitis. I was prescribed accutane and along with several other medications including, a medicated lotion (hydrocortisone), retin A, and benzoyl peroxide. Now, half a year later, my skin has improved tremendously. I'm still taking accutane until advised to discontinue. I'm so happy with my results. For those who are taking antibiotics for an inflammatory skin rash, please discuss with your dermatologist about gram negative skin disorders. Hopefully you will not have to spend years flooding your body with unnecessary systemic drugs.

Oh wow, your skin look amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. What is your Accutane dosage? Do you use Retin-A everyday? What strength are you using?
Just so you are aware, we have a whole community dedicated to Retin-A if you want to check it out.

Thank you so much. Much trial and error to get to this point. My actuate dosage is 40 mg 2x per week. I was prescribed Retin-A but I seldom apply it to my face as it is a bit harsh for my psoriasis issue. I'm tackling two issues at a time. However, I would definitely recommend Retin-A for individuals who do not have psoriasis. It's a miracle topical medication, great for pores and fine lines. I noticed a difference with one application.

Hi, some people on the YouTube videos saying, don’t use any vitamin A derivatives including RetinA, retinol as accutane may cause some irritation. And not even Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide topically. Is that true? What’s your experience like? Thanks for sharing it with everyone dude!
I have cystic acne but ended up being late in acne stage. I ended up with many scars
