Would Not Recommend at Least for Certain People

After meeting with him and his staff, I had liposuction with Dr. Ken in September 2021. I felt that before the procedure, they were very reassuring. I explained my medical history, including a collagen mutation/ stretchy skin issue, and voiced my concerns about post-op sagging. If that were thought to be any genuine concern, I would not want to proceed with the procedure. I also expressed my issues with cool sculpting in the past with pain and inflammation and my body not reacting appropriately to this. I made sure to address my previous experience and medical conditions very clearly so that the doctor could help me make an informed decision on whether to proceed or not. I felt that my concerns were addressed with the general “there are always risks, and XYZ can happen, but we feel very confident that everything will be good and see no reason not to proceed” and that I should not be concerned about my skin. His expressed knowledge and reassurance are why I didn’t feel the need to seek another opinion, which retrospectively was my mistake.
I trusted their word at the time, but I wish I never did. This procedure that I was told the post-op would maybe take me out of work for a few days and be “a little sore after.” It had me out of work and in tremendous pain for over two weeks. My whole body was bloated, in extreme pain, blood-tinged fluid pouring (not leaking) out of me for the first few days, and my abdomen was very uneven looking, with what seemed like a lump protruding from my lower right abdomen. I pushed through the pain in hopes this was just the healing process. I felt that once the procedure was done and the money was paid, then attitudes were a little more indifferent. It was more “we told you the risks,” and they were very dismissive about my post-op complications versus before the money; it was more- we have so much confidence you’ll love it.
As time passed and there was no real improvement, they kept saying to wait as it may take up to heal. Well, it’s been over a year. My abdomen is still asymmetric, and my skin is still sagging, which it was not before this. I’ve also not lost any weight compared to pre-liposuction. I don’t feel any significant difference in how I look, especially my abdomen other than feeling I look so much worse than I did before doing this. I am more self-conscious after the procedure- due to sagging skin, being lopsided, and having “scar tissue” bumps.
Also, I was told before the procedure that the insertion scars would be hidden more under my armpits, and I woke up to visible scars on the side of my arms, which, after the process was done, there was nothing I could do. The staff was nice, but nice does not mean good results, and I learned that the hard way.
I regret my decision to have liposuction, and I wish I had known what I know now. I would never recommend this to anyone who has any concerns about skin not snapping back or any collagen/skin issues. This was probably the biggest and most expensive regret of my life. I never felt this could happen before this procedure. I was so reassured by the doctor and staff that I’m utterly disappointed by how bad I look and feel now. I’m writing this review to describe my experience as truthfully as possible and to warn others that there’s a different side of how things can go wrong, which no one wants to advertise.
