Ethical and Professional !!
Dr. Nyame
Where can I begin. Dr. Nyame prides himself off of being ethical with his medical care . He is the consummate professional who shows that he is more about quality than quantity.
To give a little bit of background information. I had a cosmetic procedure ( BBL and Lipo) performed in Miami, Florida. As a result of the procedure I experienced some complications resulting in a large seroma on the left side of my stomach . Mind you the Seroma was present at my last post-op appointment with the surgeon in Miami. The seroma was drained, however, there were no significant recommendations given to me as next steps by the physician . In fact, the physician’s exact words were as follows: “ Well you are planning to have a tummy tuck in the upcoming months anyway so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.” This left me feeling very unsettled given the fact I was returning to Charlotte, NC, and in my mind I was thinking that no physician would want to come behind another physician’s work .
Upon me researching information I learned that, in most cases the seroma would have to be drained multiple times; the body could reabsorb it. However, given the large size of my seroma I knew that it would be necessary for me to be seen by a local board certified plastic surgeon here in Charlotte .
I decided to reach out to Dr. Nyame via direct message on Instagram. Due to the late hour that I made contact with him I wasn’t expecting him to reply so soon, but he was very prompt in encouraging me to contact his office. I felt so embarrassed and humiliated by having to do this, but at the same time my seroma was becoming larger and larger by the day.
Dr. Nyame along with his nurse, Amanda, were very professional, nurturing,supportive, and helped ease my anxiety along with my embarrassment. His level humility made me feel comfortable and gave me reassurance that everything would be okay. He took the time to get to know me as well as, to get a better grasp/concept of my procedure and my concerns.
Both Dr. Nyame along with his nurse, Amanda, provided me with follow up care recommendations which is something that wasn’t provided to me in Miami. He also contacted me in the following days to check on my well being .
I am forever grateful and appreciative of the level of care that he provided me along with his willingness to treat my medical complications that was caused at the hands of another physician. Not many doctors would have been willing to take on my case. So, this speaks volumes about his level of commitment with providing quality care.
