Dr. Varano provided me a consultation for awake liposuction. He showed me many photos of before and after. His pricing is fair and his staff is caring. He has great bedside manners. He quoted 3-4 hours. I scheduled my treatment for the following week. They were able to fit me in by rearranging their schedule. I think this is very accommodating. I arrived the day of treatment and we promptly started at 12 noon. He began to mark my body with a marker to know where he needed to preform the work. He asked me to look in the mirror to see if the areas I desired were covered. I mentioned that on the sidewalls of my chest I want to be sure that I did not have a fat fold left at the arm pit crease. Also the lower pec / chest area needed to be addressed as not to be so round. He remarked a little and asked how it looked again. I said you are the pro, so I guess this is it -my trust is in his hands. He began to work. Mostly the work preformed was pain free - a few pinches here or there and a little stinging pain now and again, but nothing to bad. He worked while making lite conversation and listening to music. The assistant kept my legs covered while I flipped from one side to the other. Toward the end of the procedure he stood me up to have a look. He had me lay back down and hit a couple spots for touch up. This made it seem like he truly cares more about a job well done. If memory serves me correctly he suctioned a little more on chest side wall area - to back. He said, getting blood and you have a lots of skin. When done he left the room without saying much. This is a workout for him so I understand. I am concerned about the fat folds at my arm pits as I do not see or feel and discomfort. They still look fatty and my pinch test says there is fat but maybe I’m swollen. Im excited to see the end results. He took out about 2.5 to 3 pounds of fat (I’ll list the liters in my update) which is a lot less than other doctors told me they would remove. I asked him to be aggressive in his approach which I am sure he was. I understand, until you get in there you may not know exactly how much will need to be removed according to text books and many doctors. He was out of the room by 2:15. That was less than 3 hours which was concerning based on my estimate. Then again, I believe he charges by the area. However, it took until 2:30pm to for the assistant to bandage and help me dress. Over all it was a great experience. I would have thought I’d get a follow up call to see how I was doing by a staff member (I am accustom to this from my Botox injector plastic surgery office in Tyson’s corner. but I’m sure they are busy with the holidays and every office has their own procedures.) They are very accommodating, friendly, and are extremely caring to make you feel at home while in the office. I am looking forward to my results over the next weeks and months. The compression garment is tight which is good but that is the most uncomfortable thing about the experience. I looked at my body 24 hours after the procedure and its was still swollen a bit and fluids were moving downward. My 3 personal concerns thus far are 1. will the fat folds at my armpits remain as I do not have bruising nor do they look like they were touched, 2. was enough fat removed for my desired over all look 3. with the pubic area was it done enough and evenly, 4. Is a 2 piece compression garment the best for full trunk lipo. I don’t want ridges, lumps and bumps. I will question the doctor at follow up. This is my first lipo so I’m rather intrigued and wondering what’s to come. Time will tell, but as of now I have no reason not to believe I will have great results from Dr. Varano. So far so good and I am pleased as I can be. Stay tuned for updates as I go through this journey. I will post photos of before, around 1 week, all in between and at 90 days. I will also post reviews on Yelp and Google. Check back soon!

First let me say that I went for my 1st week checkup. The doctor said all looks fine and told me to continue wearing compression. It seems the lower abs need a little more compression than the provided garment is giving. I had a small firm patch below my bellybutton. I was advised to purchase a waist wrap for added compression. He gave me some additional wraps to use which was very kind of him. I let him know that I was concerned that not enough fat was removed and that the symmetry and fatty looking size of my chest is concerning. At one week I understand that swelling is still an issue and healing properly for good results will take time. I don’t want to worry, but in the back of my mind I am. I asked him if there seems to be areas that have issues , could we touch up after 6 months. He replied with yes and the cost would be very minimal. That left me less worried putting my mind at ease.

Not a lot has changed. My trunk area is very lightly sore when touched. On a 0-10 sale, I say sore when touched .005. My chest and sides aren’t sore at all. I am giving massages to my areas daily. I have a very firm spot still in my stomach area that I massage as the doctor instructed. The stomach still looks like more fat should have been removed. Most likely still swollen but I cant imagine there is that much swelling. Lol I’m eager for some more results to show. I reviewed the pre op photos and I see some positive results which is great, but I want the dramatic results to come. As for my chest, I’m still very concerned. One side looks fat and my chest isn’t shaping up nicely as I had hoped. Its very round and not symmetrical at all. When will these results start showing? This journey is long and I’m excited for the real results to start showing. The doctor has me going in for a checkup just after New Years. By the way the staff and doctor are always friendly, inviting, prompt and accommodating.
Photos will be posted soon enough.

I was thinking the same thing no one called after 24 hours just to make sure I was ok. My arm have deep ripples in them. I think more fat could of been removed. Although the are a little more smaller then before. I’ll definitely need a touch up. My back is okay still really sore in certain areas. I think more fat could of been removed. I spent more then I’ll be spending for my next procedure. I think that up north liposuction is not as popular as it is in Florida & the DR.

My stomach still has 2 large handfuls of what I think is fat - I can palm a basketball lol. Not to mention my chest is still fatty. My cousin is the chief of plastics at a university hospital up north. I want to think it’s still to early to tell, but I know swelling and I’m very familiar with fat. I don’t understand why so little fat was removed. I’m 6”4 260 with full trunk and chest being treated - less than 3 pounds of fat being removed- I’m optimistic and Time will tell. I’m not hating on the doctor, yet lol. I’m just anxious and realistic. I don’t mind having a touch up. I’m just concerned as we all are I’m sure just 2 weeks out. Praying for the best!!
