Misplaced fat

I discussed the issue of the "fatty lumps" with a plastic surgeon in Canada last week in more detail, after writing this review. He clarified that the fat was entirely misplaced from the beginning, rather than having "migrated" as I initially thought.

It seems Dr. Campbell attempted to fill my hip dips but injected the fat much too high and used an excessive amount.

When I questioned the lumps over an email to Dr. Campbell, he dismissed them as temporary swelling (and I believed him, hence seeing him again). However, as the swelling subsided, the lumps only became more pronounced—likely because the surrounding tissue went down, making the misplaced fat stand out even more.

I'm also almost a year post-fat transfer so it is definitely not swelling as Dr. Campbell claimed it to be.

The only way to correct this now is through liposuction of that area (as well as abdominoplasty for the overhanging incision he left that should have been 1.5cm). Unfortunately, I have no choice but to proceed with revision surgery, as the irregularities are clearly visible, even through clothing.

Left Requiring Revision Surgery

I’ve had surgery twice with Dr. Campbell. The first procedure involved liposuction and fat transfer, and initially, I was pleased with the results—so much so that I returned for a second surgery. Unfortunately, over time, the fat transfer began to migrate, leaving uneven lumps on my flanks and hips, as shown in the attached photos. A plastic surgeon I consulted with in Canada later informed me that fat should never have been transferred to those areas, and that the only way to correct the issue is through additional liposuction to remove the misplaced fat.
Unaware that the first surgery had gone wrong, I returned to Dr. Campbell for another procedure, which he performed alongside a contracted surgeon. They conducted three procedures during a single operation. One of them was supposed to be performed laparoscopically, as agreed upon before surgery and noted in my signed surgical records. However, I awoke to find a 3-inch incision instead—clearly not laparoscopic—and it had not been stitched properly.
Just 48 hours later, I had to be placed under general anesthesia again so Dr. Campbell could perform skin resection surgery to repair the poor initial closure. This left me with a 7.5-inch scar, even though the incision should be only 1.5 cm. I’ve attached photos of the incisions that were supposed to be minimal and laparoscopic.
The second surgery also failed to deliver the promised results. It left a significant overhang, which I was initially told was "just swelling." However, two plastic surgeons I consulted with in Canada later confirmed that the only way to fix it would be through a full abdominoplasty surgery.
I’ve shared my experience online to help others make informed decisions. After doing so, I received a legal request to take down my personal account. I don’t deny that Dr. Campbell has had successful outcomes with other patients—many of the reviews are positive, and those influenced my decision to go to him. Sadly, in my case, things went wrong, and there was no willingness to take responsibility for the outcome.
