Nostrils

I just want to update that the lip lift did not make my nostrils uneven at all like I was worried about previously. But the lip lifts in conjunction with rhinoplasty and nostril reductions have pulled my nasal sils down a very tiny bit giving a tiny bit/barely more nostril show. Hope that helps :)

1.5yr update - same length but flattened now

As you can see how all the swelling is gone. It elderly does take a year. Unfortunately that meant that my lip lost its upward angle/pout so although very natural and nice, visually it looks “as if” my lip dropped some. But still better than before. I could stand going a little shorter as I really love that shorter pout look, but we will see.

Info on Nose Changed if you’ve had a Prior Rhinoplasty

While the way Dr Mascaro make the incision (NOT into your nasal entryways) really helps prevent any nose changes, if your nose is either inherently weak, light, or had some weakening due to rhinoplasty or nostril reduction, which I fit into that category, you could find your lip lift tugs your nose down somewhat. I won’t call this a nasal deformity because it’s definitely not like those results you see when the cut it made inside your nostrils, but nevertheless it’s a change. It can be a pleasant change because it appeared to somewhat slim down my nose. But also because my prior rhinoplasty surgeon made two varying cuts (not identical cuts) to each nostril, I believe one nostril was inherently weaker than the other. Consequently one nostril pulled down a tiny bit more - it’s noticeable only to myself really and most nodes have non-symmetrical nostrils. But this is something to keep in mind if you have a lot removed or go for multiple lip lifts. Although Dr M never stated why he prefers to do nostril reduction after a lip lift and not before (in my case I had the reduction in between LL 1 and 2), I can see why now. Because if I went for a LL again in the future, I’d have to anticipate potentially getting another evening out of my nostrils later if one got weighted down more than the other. I think most of the people on Realself are perfectionists and so I’d like to say in reality, this unevenness is almost nothing. But I sure hope this info helps others out there when deciding or planning out this procedure! :)
