I started seeing Dr. Hsu a few months ago because I was interested in a surgical lip lift and wanted to find a highly qualified surgeon I felt comfortable with for this procedure. Over the course of a few sessions and conversations to see her for botox/fillers, I was able to ask questions about the surgery. This also gave me an opportunity to get to know her, her style and approach. I think it also gave her time to get to know me, my goals, and my facial anatomy. Each visit gave me great confidence in her skill and aesthetic, as well as her wit, compassion and approachability. All of these things matter to me in a doctor. Dr. Hsu excels in every way.
I’ve been very happy with all of her services and every one of our sessions. We did the lip lift procedure and I am extremely happy with the results, even as early as a few weeks out from the surgery. Her surgical approach and skill is meticulous, exacting and awe inspiring. She has been nothing less than wonderful, alleviating my fears and answering all my many questions with patience and intelligence. I am so grateful to have found her and to call her my doctor. Truly can not recommend her highly enough.

I continue to be thrilled with my LL results. My scar is essentially invisible - can only be seen if you are really looking for it. No one knows I had this surgery unless I tell them. Because I've had some people ask about this procedure, I want to share my opinion on what you should consider before getting lip lift surgery.
1) Any history of bad scar formation or being in a demographic more likely to get a visible scar (e.g., people of color). If this is true for you, then this may not be the right surgery for you.
2) A skilled (i.e., skilled in this procedure), caring surgeon you feel comfortable talking to. I think all these qualities really matter. Dr. Hsu absolutely meets all this criteria! She is truly gifted and caring.
3) Your personal commitment to a good surgical result. This is the one folks may not realize or gloss over. Please don't!
You should be ready to make a real commitment in the form of (minimally) following advised surgical aftercare and keeping follow-up appointments. Optimally, you are also committing to good sleep/rest, excellent nutrition, easy-to-eat foods, low stress, and a partner, friend of family member you can talk to if you get stressed or nervous. This personal commitment to your own care really can not be overstated. You also owe this commitment to your caring surgeon.
Lastly, please remember that all swelling from a LL can takes many weeks to fully resolve, so your behavior and habits really are a factor in healing. Hope this is helpful!
