Dr. Emer used Voluma to fill my lips four times total. The first three times, they came out beautifully. He never used a full syringe in one sitting and I always came back after 6 weeks to finish it off. Once he used a second syringe without asking me and I didn't find out until I went to pay. I still came back because my lips looked good. The last time I was there, he rushed through the procedure. Used an entire syringe in one sitting and my lips were massive and deformed afterwards. I kept waiting for the swelling to go down but it didn't. There was more filler around my actual lips than inside. I came in to have them fixed but he said they looked fine. They do not. It's been 2 years and they're still deformed. I've seen two other doctors who confirmed my filler was injected incorrectly and this shouldn't have happened. Dr. Emer offered to dissolve my filler but I'd have to pay to have them refilled. Unfortunately I would not recommend or trust him again.

thats quite unfortunate. I am sorry to hear you had that experience. I would suggest coming back in and talking with us about your lips and how we can fix them. 2 years ago is a very long time to wait and see us, and in all the years of doing fillers I have never been told I "injected wrong" as I teach other physicians how to inject. filler can sometimes move or vycross fillers like voluma can have different changes over time. im sure its an easy fix with dissolving. HOWEVER if the result for you is deformity after 2 years then it may be scar tissue and not filler. Also, I would never EVER inject someone without their consent. If I were to use more filler I would always discuss this with a client and go through their goals and long term expectations, so I am unsure how you had that experience from well in the past.
