Up-Close Scar Shot - Two Months Post Surgery

For those asking for an up-close scar shot, here you go. I am two-months out from surgery, anchor lift with no implant. You can really only see the scars in bright light now, so I'm super excited about how they're going to look as time progresses.

Life-Changing Breast Reduction... Dr. Rahban is the Best of the Best

I'm a pretty meticulous person. The type of person who thinks something shouldn't be done unless it's done right. I guess you could say I'm a bit of an aesthetics snob. For better or worse, I tend to notice the little details in things.
I've had large breasts since I can remember. I'm now in my mid-thirties and have two toddlers. Instead of my breasts deflating after breastfeeding (as I understand is the case for most women) my breasts just got bigger (and saggier)! By 2019, I was a 36F and pretty miserable with the shape of my body. I could barely find bras that fit, let alone cute clothes that would fit my top half. I had constant lower back pain and had to wear two tight sports bras to even consider exercising. I was frustrated and strongly considering a breast reduction, but I was nervous. Because of my perfectionist nature and the fact that I'm a mom to two tiny humans, I knew I could only go through with the surgery if I had 100% confidence in my surgeon and his team -- both from a safety and aesthetics perspective. I live in northern California, and despite it being more expensive and inconvenient, I was willing to travel for the right surgeon. I felt and still feel that it is so much more important to find the right surgeon than the most convenient one. Trust me, regardless of your income level, save, save, save until you can afford to go to the doctor who will do the job right.
I had been researching doctors for few years via RealSelf, Yelp, etc., and also consulted with Melinda Farina (The Beauty Broker) who was excellent to work with. I had been admiring Dr. Rahban's work for years online (and Melinda confirmed that he was an excellent surgeon), so I set up a consult with Dr. Rahban and two other top-tier breast reduction surgeons. Dr. Rahban was my last consult and I felt a sense of calm as soon as he walked in the room. He went through every single detail of the procedure with me (down to surgery theory and technique) and made me feel so incredibly comfortable. He told me he's used the same few anesthesiologists for years, and that he trusted them with his wife and mother's surgeries. He told me he would be the only one to stitch me up. He's one of the only surgeons in the country that does not have a nurse help close, which makes a huge difference in the outcome of your scars (and why his patient's scars look so clean). He told me he often takes a more time on breast lifts than other surgeons as he's meticulous. After my consult, I knew Dr. Rahban was the surgeon for me. I booked my surgery for a few months later.
In early March, I left my kids with my husband (deal with it dude!) and traveled with my mom to Beverly Hills for my surgery. We stayed in a hotel the night before and arrived at the surgery center Dr. Rahban uses around 10 a.m. on March 11. I met both my nurse and anesthesiologist, who both were as fantastic as you can imagine, before Dr. Rahban came in the room to mark me up for surgery. The anesthesiologist led me into the surgery room (and kept me laughing the whole time -- much appreciated, as I was nervous!), I laid down on the operating table and before I knew it, woke up in recovery. I remember waking up feeling super cozy and not in much pain. I was taken to Serenity (a surgery recovery center in Santa Monica) where I chose to stay the night after surgery. This isn't necessary, especially as my mom was with me, but I knew having nurses close by would make me feel better as I can be a bit of a hypochondriac. They took great care of me and Dr. Rahban personally called me the next morning to check and see how I was doing. He asked the nurses to take photos of my breasts so he could make sure everything was looking perfect. I didn't have much pain over the next few days and it was easily managed through pain meds. After leaving Serenity (which I didn't want to do because everyone took such great care of me!), my mom and I checked into an AirBnB in Beverly Hills where we stayed until my one-week check up. At my check up, Dr. Rahban removed my stitches and my mom and I both cried! I couldn't believe how amazing my breasts already looked.
I traveled back to northern California after my one-week check up, and things have been pretty smooth sailing since. I was off pain meds after the first week. Obviously, the world has gone a bit crazy since my surgery with the pandemic, but Dr. Rahban has been wonderful about answering every single question I have about recovery since I've been home. His entire staff, including Maggie and Sally (hi ladies!), have been BEYOND excellent through the whole process. I'm due for another in-person check up later this month.
And as for my results --- I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but I'm THRILLED. I'm now about 36 D-DD, which Dr. Rahban felt was the right size to achieve a great shape on my frame, and I agree. I am about two-months out and already can barely see my scars. I have no idea how Dr. Rahban did it, but he gave me back the breasts I had when I was 20.
Basically, this is a very long-winded way of saying that Dr. Rahban is the absolute best surgeon you can choose for a breast reduction and is 100% worth traveling for. Dr. Rahban, thank you for changing my life.
