One week milestone!

Yesterday I went to my one week post-op appointment. My surgeon popped in to speak with me very briefly, so a lot of my questions and concerns were answered by a fabulous nurse that works closely with him. One of my main concerns were about my low nipple placement and slight asymmetry. I was relieved to hear that my nipples will indeed become centered on my breasts once they drop and become more symmetric. Due to my request to not have them pointing straight upward (being too high) my surgeon made a conscious effort to be conservative with my nipple placement during the procedure, to ensure he meets my request of having them point straight forward. My other questions included when I can resume lifting, taking vitamins, and begin scar treatments.

My results are slightly improved from the last photos I posted. Bruising has definitely gone down and my nipples have raised a bit already! I will post new photos at the two week mark when improvements are likely going to be more noticeable.

UPDATE ON INCISION PAIN

So I received a call this evening from the nurse at the surgical center where I had my operation. She was calling to check on my recovery, so I took the opportunity to tell her of the incision pain I've been experiencing. She said it was totally normal. I guess I just have been freaking out about recovery!! Just praying to have a recovery without complications. I am doing my best and will try to stay calm and patient with healing and pain :)

Incision Pain

Other than redness and bruising beneath my breasts, especially my left one, not much has changed looks-wise, however, I've been experiencing increasing incision pain beneath my breast folds. When i reach to grab something or even wash my face (which causes me to bend forward a bit) I feel like I'm popping those sutures beneath my breast folds. It is very painful and long lasting. I hope this is a normal finding. Because of this pain I have been taking the full dose of Percocet again which takes the aches and pains away, but of course there's that down side of severe drowsiness and BLOATING. Below are photos of the bruising. I will definitely mention all my concerns at my one week post op appointment.

To be fair, I will review Dr. Hankins at the 6 week post-op mark which is usually when final results, favorable or unfavorable, are foreseeable. So far though, he is a nice man of few words with rave reviews from previous clients. I hope to become one of them!
