I went in with my work spouse to see Dr. David for a deal on Dysport. Suddenly I'm getting my lips filled with Restylane Silk! So glad I did. I love them! I had Dysport done the same day (easy breezy) but I found the lip injections to be more painful than expected. Dr. David uses the blunt cannula method of injection which is supposed to be less painful and result in no bruising. Apparently I was one of the more difficult patients (? scar tissue in upper lip making it harder to thread the cannula through). I did get a small amount of bruising to the lower left corner of my mouth, nothing major. The swelling was definitely more than I expected. I hadn't really done any research into this procedure to know what to expect. After applying ice, the swelling went down considerably and as of today (day 4 post), I am very pleased with the results.

It's been just over 4 weeks since getting plumped. Maybe I'm used to them, but I feel like they should be a little bit bigger. Am I crazy? And I feel like the left upper lip looks slightly smaller than the right side. I can still feel little lumps on the inside of my upper left lip. I thought those would have resolved by now, they certainly did on the right. Hmmmm.....

I wish there were pictures to see!! Anyway I just had mine done 3 days ago - now that the swelling has settled and the bruising is healing, I also wish we'd gone a bit bigger. Next fill. LOL So the answer is - no, you're not crazy.

Definitely NOT worth it!

Just wanted to say that my initial review was done within a week of having Juvaderm when I was very happy with the results. However, within weeks of paying $500 for my lips, they were deflated and back down to normal. I am still left with a small hard bump inside the lateral aspect of my lip but all the fullness I had was gone after a few weeks. I would never have this done again as I found it to be a complete waste of money. Perhaps I'm just one of the unlucky ones that absorbs the product rapidly, I don't know. I contacted the office where I had it done and they never called me back so I let it go. Oh well, live and learn.

Wow, you look fantastic, thank you for sharing! How much of the Restylane did you get? Did you use any numbing cream?
