4 Week Update

It has been 4 weeks + 2 days since I got 3 vials of Kybella injections under my chin. I still do not see a difference, but I know I still have 4 more weeks until my follow up visit. I still have a little bit of pain or numbing (I cant really describe the feeling). I am hopeful that I will start to see some results going forward.

Still Waiting For Results
I am 10 days post op, and have not seen any results yet. I got 3 viles injected on 5/11/2019. I showed up 30 minutes early to get the numbing cream. Once I went in to see the doctor, he explained that I will likely be swollen like a bull-frog for 3-4 weeks. He also told me I will likely need 2-3 treatments total, and made sure I was still willing to get it done. He offered me a different procedure called Agnes, but because I had never heard about it or done any research I decided to stick with Kybella. The injections did not hurt, but within minutes... my neck/throat were on fire! They gave me an ice pack and sent me home. I iced on/off for 15 minutes at a time for the rest of the day. I got so swollen I felt like the Nutty Professor! The bullfrog look lasted 2-3 days for me. Today (day 10) I do not notice much swelling, and most bruising is gone, but I am still a bit sore to the touch and when I yawn. I am also itchy on one side of my neck right under my jaw. Not sure why, I do not have any marks or redness or bumps where it itches. I am 34 years young, 5'5, 160 lbs.

You look great! I can definitely see a difference! I did 1 vial about 2 years ago & never got another treatment, because the results kept getting better & better over the months.
Wow! Only 1 vial and you kept seeing results that long after? That gives me hope! I’ve seen some reviews on here that worried me that I won’t have any results ever.
I think 10 days it's really early for results. I am 14 weeks out and just now starting to see a visible change. I wanted to have a second treatment but was fearful of the swelling in the summertime so I'm waiting till the fall. Hang in there. This procedure really develops a lot of patience in you!
Yeah I know I still have a ways to go... I’m just so impatient lol! My follow up appointment is scheduled for 8 weeks after I got the kybella which is definitely another indicator that I have a long ways to go. I just wanted to start tracking the progress.
I don't blame you!! Keep updating your profile so we can follow along with you. I really have appreciated the support all along my journey, especially when I got extremely discouraged around the 7-week mark. Hang in there, girlfriend!
Thank you! I will update with new photos next week!
I want to tell you that with ME, I've had 2 treatments, and both times I SWEAR to you that week 3 I was still swollen and week 4 it's like it decided to retract because someone who saw me during week 3 and then a week later asked me if I had lost 10 lbs!! I know everyone's experience is different but the fact that you had so much swelling tells me that we are similar in that. I was so swollen it grossed me out to look in the mirror, it was BAD and I didn't even have that much, however when the swelling finally subsided it has been AMAZING and I love it!!! This is what I think - if you can still feel ANY kind of numbness it's still working (I guess that's obvious but just wanted to point out anyway) and you can still expect more retraction (?). I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that it changed my life, I've always had chubby cheeks no matter WHAT weight 115lbs - 130lbs, and Kybella got rid of what I hated and I also had it in the submental area and it worked like a charm. And one more thing, I'm 45 y/o and was worried there would be sagging skin, and somehow there isn't!! I think you will be so happy I really do, or I would not bother writing this, you are so pretty you're just going to be even prettier. & p.s. I promise you I do not work for Kybella or Allergan, etc. :):)
Daniela, thank you so much for taking the time to write me and tell me all about your experience! I really appreciate it, and it got me very excited! I currently feel even more insecure about the under chin area than I did before Kybella. I will post another update next week even though I do not expect to see a difference still. Thanks again, and have a great weekend! :)
Hun I had to write you again, I forgot this part, I think it was around the 17 day mark after my first treatment (granted this was in the jowl/jawline area, I didn’t do the submental til the 2nd treatment), where I genuinely thought the swelling was never going to full resolve & I was looking into a mini facelift. Not that I could easily afford it but I thought- I don’t have any other choice. And then not too much later was when I could actually see that the fullness disappeared. I’m sorry my messages are so long but it’s hard to find a lot of personal experience w/ Kybella because it’s still so new. So I want to do my part & giving first hand knowledge. I think what I really want you to know, if you need another treatment to be really satisfied that seems like the protocol- but I can PROMISE you there is no way you won’t see some improvement, it would be impossible to dissolve fat cells & not see less fullness in said area. Please do update us & I’m excited for you to start loving what Kybella does (that sounds weird lol).
Im on day 16 now, and for some reason... yesterday I looked more swollen again. Some days seem less than other days... it goes up and down. I am not sure why! I can hardly wait until all the swelling is down and I start to see my jaw!!! I have an engagement party on a Yacht in 3 weeks (which will be the 5 week mark), and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will see an improvement by then!
I was swollen for 5 weeks and didn't see a difference until 6 weeks. Hang in there lady it will get better I promise.
Dang that is a long time to be swollen! I'll just have to be patient! ;)
I know it’s hard especially with comparing yourself to others on social media. Stay off Instagram but I promise u it will be worth it.
Hahaha I did look up #KYBELLA but I did not see much, and got over it pretty fast.
