9 days out from 2nd treatment

It’s been a bit over a week since my second treatment with Kybella. Recovery was easier this time, emotionally and physically. I definitely didn’t swell as much and I felt comfortable with going out in public around day 4. I’ve got a lingering bruise, but I can conceal it easily.
My progress so far continues to be around the sides of my jaw. I’m incredibly happy with that because my entire face seems lifted. I’m a little discouraged that the center from my chin to mid-neck doesn’t seem to be budging (see side view.) It feels significantly smaller but I’m hoping it pulls up more as I heal. I have a couple lumps in that area so hopefully it’s just taking its time!

Round 2

It's been 3 months from my first treatment, and I decided to go back for the second round of Kybella to coincide with another small procedure I had done on my face earlier this morning (i.e., the reason for the band-aids in the photos.) I thought I might as well add in the few days of massive jiggly double chin if I was already going to be homebound because of the other procedure.

I'd been thrilled with my results from my first round of Kybella, and now that I knew what to expect, the second round was far less anxiety-inducing. We did three vials this time, though mapping out the dots of the treatment area had us at barely over two. The doctor said we could do two or three, and she could certainly find some more areas to inject with the rest of the vial. I went with three. She put the extra on the back of my jawline sort of below my ears.

The injections went pretty smoothly. The achy burning was present, but now that I knew it would only linger for a few minutes, it didn't bother me as much.

The only odd thing I noticed this time is that I had some welts swell up from a few of the injection sites. (I'm not terribly surprised; my body likes to pop up allergic reactions to pretty much anything!) So I'll be taking some Benadryl in addition to some Tylenol and hoping they go away quickly.

I'll update with some more pictures in the coming week.

One month update

It's been a month and I'm still happy! I previously reported that I saw a difference starting on day 5, and it's just been getting better and better since then.

I'm seeing progress from the borders of my jawbone, if that makes sense. There's a shrink-wrapping effect, mainly on the sides and underneath.

I've still got some numb and sensitive areas. I've had some of those lumps that others have experienced. Mine has been concentrated just under my jowl area and in the center. I had a vertical rope-like shape in the center that was actually making it difficult to lift my chin up for about a week. Every few days it shrinks upward and now I've got the full range of motion back.

You can see in my side-view picture that I still don't have a tucking effect underneath my chin. It doesn't look like it's much progress, but there is so much less tissue there when I touch it.

The little area of crepey skin that had been bothering me (pre-Kybella) is gone.

I'm still thrilled with my results after one treatment. I didn't expect to see changes until after the second treatment, so this is a nice surprise. I'll be going back for another round.
