I have always been a fan of cosmetic enhancement and have been wanting to try lip fillers for awhile, but was very nervous. I'd seen many results that were too ducky, and I wasn't sure if they would complement my face or not. But finally after lots of research, I made an appointment.
I started small and only got .5 ccs or half a syringe. I wasn't even sure I would be able to notice a difference. The injection process was how I expected - it stung and was unpleasant. Right afterwards, my lips looked fantastic! I was thrilled and ready to come back in 6 months.
The side effects I was told about were mild swelling and bruising, what I got was a nightmare. My lips started swelling about 2 hours after I got them done and they did not stop. By about 5 hours later, they were unrecognizable and felt like they were about to burst. They had swelled about 10 times their normal size and were bruised all over. I could barely talk or eat. It was terrifying. I went to urgent care and got steroid shots and medication but now at a day later the swelling has only gone down a small amount.
I am hopeful in a few days that they will look like the original photo, right after I got them done, but I will never do this again. I can't imagine what the outcome of one full syringe would have been. Please be cautious when injecting things into your body, it can have great results but there can be some terrible side effects.
