I Asked For Temple Filler—My Cheeks Were Made Wider Instead

I went to Goldfingers specifically for temple and chin filler. After having children, I lost some of the softer, heart-shaped fullness I used to have. I was happy with my surgical fat-transfer result and only wanted the remaining temple hollowness filled so my temples would blend smoothly into the outer cheek.
I repeatedly explained that I did not want additional cheek fullness because my midface was already full from the underlying fat transfer. I said that, at most, half a syringe could be placed high in the outer cheek only if needed to connect the temples, and I was told she would use only what was needed to blend the area. When I saw a full cheek syringe on the treatment plan, I questioned why it was there and again said no to using an entire syringe in my cheek.
I was charged $1,100 for temple filler and $1,100 for the cheek syringe. I left with little to no noticeable improvement in my temples, but immediate added width in the exact midface area I had repeatedly asked her not to augment. When I pointed out how full my cheeks looked, I was told it was swelling. When I said my temples looked untouched, I was told to give them time to settle. After spending $3,200, I felt I looked worse than before treatment. For fairness, I do like the subtle chin result.
When I contacted the office, I was invited to return so the same injector could assess me and explain her treatment plan, with the possibility of adding more filler to the same temples that showed no noticeable improvement. I was not comfortable allowing her to touch my face again and requested review by management or the medical director.
I requested reimbursement only for the $1,100 cheek syringe. I see no noticeable improvement from the temple filler, but I understand I am unlikely to be compensated for a result that simply failed to show.
The cheek treatment is different. Filler was placed directly over an already-full area containing transferred fat, despite my repeated instructions not to add volume there, and it made my midface visibly wider. I now need an independent evaluation by a physician or appropriately qualified ultrasound-guided injector to locate and dissolve the unwanted filler. That creates an additional expense and also raises the risk of disrupting or losing some of the fat-transfer result I had already invested in and was trying to preserve.
