I'd like to share my journey with you as I was reading a lot of reviews and it did help me to make a decision.
About me: great skin until a ugly break with then boyfriend at age 22. Never had a pimple on my face, NEVER. Then suddenly after a lot of stress and not so healthy lifestyle I got my first spot. It wasn't too bad and I didn't paid attention. Since then I always had problems that became a big issue during pregnancy (at age 25/26). I literally was unable to put my face on the pillow, I got acne over my chest and back. This acne left a lot of scars and nothing helped. I waited after a was done with breastfeeding etc. The only things that kind of helped was a a pill - Dianette (I wa son it for 1.5 years) . However I didn't feel that it is a solution - to take them forever + I still had pimples that left scars. After Dianette I was prescribed antibiotics and had ZERO effect. Literally - NO EFFECT! And thing is, that I was very worrying taking them and hoped to avoid it at all cost. That said, I got very depressed over it, I am sick of the painfull acne, I am sick of heave make ups, bleeding pimples etc. Now my docs told me to try roaccutane and I agreed despite feeling against it for years.
So I Started 10 mg dose (I am 174 cm, 54 kg) and was on it for 3 days now. First 4 pics are before the course. I'll update weekly.

7th day update
anyanMay 12, 2016
Today is 7th day on 10 mg roaccutane + diannette pill.
I took my first tablet at 7 pm, and when i woke up at 7 am next day I saw 2 spots (that I had for about 2 months) had some dry skin on it. I was impressed. All week I was hoping I would avoid IB, but today I woke up with 2 spots (check pics) on my face and 2 more sports are on my scalp from day 3.
So at first it looked promising, the big(ish) spot suddenly disappeared, 2 girls from work and my own mother noticed my skin is better. Having those 2 spots on my face is dissapointing, but expected. So I am okay with this.
First 2 days I had zero side effects, now it is challenging.
1) My whole body is itching. I started to moisturize my body after shower (never done that before)
2) I have spots on my scalp and face
3)I am very tired all the time. Yesterday I crashed at 1 pm for 2 hours...after 10 hr sleep. That didn't happen even when my baby was a newborn, I never slept during the day.
4) I feel sick 1/2 of the day. Yesterday was the worst. It's like I am pregnant again, not bad enough to vomit but always sick. Very annoying.
5) Today (day 7) I noticed my lips a bit cracked.
6)I skipped 3 days of after work run, no energy.

day 9

awful breakout on my face (check pic), also my back is the same but spots are bleeding, one spot is so painful that I no longer can shower property, it hurts.
my body is itching so much, and i am always tired, but nausea is gone (thank god). My lips are horrible too, like I lost 2 layers... They are very thin and dry.
I feel strange to be honest, not like myself. No depression etc, just don't feel well physically.
also not sure what routine I should stick to, do I have to still use oil free products?

Use as much moisturiser as you need (I would still use oil-free). And use lanolin on your lips - all the time. If you want to get rid of your acne permanently, and avoid scarring, Roaccutane is the only solution.

Hi Jane,
Thank you for your message. I didn't realise I needed to hear something like that (my mum is against roaccutane, my husband is unsure about it, especially when he see me with side effects and other people just don't know how it is to fight acne).
I woke up during the night to put vaseline on, is it good too? I bought the first thing I saw in the store. And I use oil free sun screen for my face. Oh. Thank you.

Sorry, only just got your question. Vaseline is better than nothing but the pharmacist will have some lanolin (often used in 'nipple creams') but you can also buy it as 'hydrous wool fat' which is the cheapest way to get it. I get it in a big tub and fill little containers for myself and other family members. I have 2 nieces who have both needed Roaccutane - one had 3 courses. They both have beautiful skin now. I struggled all my life with acne and used Retin-A for years (the topical form of Roaccutane), which was the best thing you can use topically. I was eventually given Roaccutane in my late 40s... It was magic. Nobody knows what a time-consuming misery acne is unless they have had it. Don't give up, get your face back! And good luck.

Thanks so much! yes I used lanolin when breastfeeding, I remember it! I'll pay a visit to the pharmacy and also will double check the dose with my doc. I remember he said I need 20 mg but I see it is 20g written on the pack.
Thanks for your advice. I hate acne. So tired of it, when people with beautiful skin starting pointing out on how dangerous it is.. well, they have no idea how miserable I feel for years
