Recently, I travelled to India to have a facelift...
Recently, I travelled to India to have a facelift and what I thought was to be liposuction on my thighs, flanks, and back areas. I had been unwell a couple of years ago and thought my face had become very tired looking.
After thoroughly researching plastic surgeons I decided on Dr Sameer Karkhanis who without a doubt had built up a very distinguished reputation not only for his skills as a surgeon, but as a doctor who was very approachable and pleasant with his patients. I also liked the work he had done on Realself members after looking at before and after photos that had been posted.
I then made contact with Dr Sameer, asking numerous questions. The responses from him were always within 24 hours and very informative.
Once in India I discussed extensively with Dr Sameer what I hoped to acheive from the procedures. Dr Sameer pointed out that for the liposuction to be successful a body lift would need to be completed above my buttock areas running into a small V at the centre of my back. I had previously had a tummy tuck in India so it was just the posterior area that would need to be lifted. This came as a large surprise as I had not for a minute realised this would need to be done, but once he showed me how much lose skin there was, I realised liposuction without the lift would just result in more saggy skin. In hindsight, I am so pleased I went with Dr Sameers advice and grateful he recommended the posterior lipectomy as it has made the world of difference to my shape.
Dr Sameeer was extremely reassuring throughout the whole process and I could not envisage having had the surgery carried out by anyone else. He has a very calm and quietly confident manner and does an outstanding job of building trust which is certainly needed by the patient to underpin the doctor/patient relationship when having this type of surgery.
Dr Sameer is also a very experienced, safe and skilled surgeon and I am very happy with the surgeries he performed on me. While a patient in his hospital, he visited me regularly, often three times a day and gave me the opportunity to ask any questions I had.
Dr Sameer is supported by a great nursing team for whom nothing was too much trouble and Sharada, his Administration Manager, who went out of her way to make my stay as smooth as possible.
As I am a very private person I will not be posting any photos, but would highly recommend Dr Karkhanis as a Plastic Surgeon.

He helps put you at ease during a time which is very stressful, but also very exciting, and makes you feel more confident about the surgery you are about to have and the decisions you have made.
