So, after giving birth to 3 kids I am in much need...
So, after giving birth to 3 kids I am in much need of a mommy makeover. I gained 50+ pounds during all three of my pregnancies and breastfed the last two. The end results are flat boobs, a diastasis recti, an umbilical hernia and a tummy that always looks three months pregnant!
I went on three consults about two years ago and all suggested a tummy tuck with lipo (didn't consider a BA because I hadn't lost all the baby weight and my boobs were ok) but, the plastic surgeons recommended I get to my ideal weight before surgery. So, I've been working my butt off in the gym since then. It's paid off!!! I'm down 40lbs and no longer need lipo but, I was disappointed that my boobs were gone (barely 32A) and my stomach wouldn't get flat no matter how much I worked those abs. The weight loss also made the umbilical hernia appear bigger; like a 2yr old toddler with an outie!
So tired of not being able to wear what I want because of my stomach so, I decided to do something. After going through thousands of before and after pics I found a PS in Houston, TX whose TT's look natural. Not that "pulled tight sheet of skin look!" I scheduled a consult with Dr. Christopher Patronella. He was very knowledgeable; telling me all of my issues before I even had a chance to tell him! I told him I wanted fuller natural looking breast and he recommended silicone under the muscle implants. I left needing time to process everything. A few weeks later Eva; his patient coordinator emailed asking if I needed any questions answered or would like to schedule a second consult which was perfect! I'd come up with so many questions and concerns.
Dr. Patronella answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. After trying on sizers again I made a deposit and scheduled my surgery for November 17, 2016! How is it possible to be so excited and nervous at the same time???
Will post pics in a bit...
Flat boobs and an ugly tummy... can't wait for this to be a thing of the past!!!
Not sure why they didn't upload the first time.
Before pics... this is crazy!!!
Does anyone else have this problem? It keeps posting without my pics! Anyway, hopefully third time is a charm!
Natrelle Inspira SRM 445cc
So, my PS recommended smooth, round, moderate profile implants. After trying on several sizers I decided to go with 445cc. The pics are the last three sizers I tried with the last being the biggest. I didn't see much difference so decided to take the largest to make sure I didn't have the "wish I woulda went bigger" syndrome later.
I was a bit worried about the moderate profile because all of my wish pics were moderate profile plus. But after doing some research and contacting my patient coordinator I found that they are comparable because the projection is the exact same and the with only a few tenths of a cm larger.
375cc, 405cc and 445cc will all be on hand to make sure I get the best fit for my body.
I was holding my tummy in to get a better idea of how the implants will look with my TT! LOL!
These are some of my favs. Sometimes I wonder if I should be getting a high profile implant but, I think I'll prefer the more natural look of the moderate plus in the long run. And I'm pretty sure my PS chose the implant based on my personal measurements...
Not Resting Well...
Since I've scheduled my mommy makeover it has been on my mind a lot however, this last week has been rough because I can't seem to think of anything else. I literally slept 2 hours last night and even when I dozed off it was as if I was subconsciously still thinking about it. I've tried to get prepared; bought clothing, meds, pillows and even some food. I'm sure I'm overthinking this but, I'd rather be over prepared than under... Lord knows I need my rest to make it to "the big day!" I just don't know what to do...
Pre Op Tomorrow... 2 weeks from the BIG day!!!
Time is really flying by!!! I have a list of questions for my pre op appt tomorrow. I'm actually a bit worried about the implant size. I originally chose 400cc at the first consult then 450cc at the second consult; both moderate plus silicone. Now I'm wondering if the 450cc's will be too big. I liked the look trying on the sizers with clothes but, it's really important that they look great naked. I'm afraid of too much "hang!" I prefer perky over big... However, I don't want to "wish I'd gone bigger."
I'm getting Exparel so, hopefully the pain is tolerable. Not sure if he'll use it for both areas... sure hope so! I have a pretty high tolerance but, I've never had to endure for long. With childbirth I was good after the baby popped out, lol!
Also concerned about the constipation thing!!! Yikes!!! I'm gonna ask if I can start miralax before. Anyone know if that's a good idea?
More wish pics...
If only I could be awake to say... "Yep, that's the right size!" I'm such a control freak. Having a hard time depending on someone else for something so major. Taking a ton of pics to my pre op tomorrow.
Pre Op Done... Let the countdown begin!!!
Pre op went well... Got my vitamins which I started today. Decided to stick with the 445cc moderate plus implants. My PS said those will be fine with my height and torso. I'm 5'7" and 144lbs. I showed him my favorite wish pic and he goes "Ooh! I like those too!"
Post Op Front Closure Bras
So, at my pre op I was told I'd go home in an ace wrap and should wear that for the first day or two then after that I could wear the front closure support bra that was given to me by the PS. I was given a size 36D...????. She said they ran extremely small which is why she went up a few sizes but, it was still shocking seeing that size to say the least! Since I was only given one I found a few front zip sports bras with high support at target. Hopefully they work out just as well.
Today's the day!!!
17 Nov 2016
Day of treatment
Well, it's the morning of and I'm not as nervous as I thought I'd be. More so ready to be on the recovery side. Waiting for the Dr. to come in so we can get this show on the road!
I made it to the other side!!!
Well, ladies it's done! Surgery went well although it started two hours late. Anesthesiologist told me he was about to give me a margarita and the next thing I knew I was in recovery. The pressure/pain from the BA was worse than the TT incision last night; the pressure was pretty uncomfortable until my second dose of pain meds. However, the nausea has been worse. Zofran isn't doing the trick so they're calling in phenergan.
Had to shower before my nurse visit this morning so I took a quick pic... I'm pleased! Ace wrap is gone now so, I'm in the front closure bra and she applied a new abdominal binder. About to try to get some rest since I was going to the bathroom to pee every few hours all night! Hope you guys are doing well also. Oh, almost forgot... NO DRAINS!!!
Post Op Day 3
Well, so far so good. I'm happy with the incision... it's pretty symmetric. My right boob looks a bit lower on pics but, hopefully the dropping and fluffing will even that out. The pain is tolerable. Went down to one pain pill today. But the gas.... HORRIBLE!!! I've been doing hot tea, gas x and walking. I showered the morning after surgery which was great! So glad I didn't have to wait for days. Probably because he used the tape on the incisions that will last 4-6 weeks. No regrets at this point. My family has been awesome!!!
