Original mentor gel (gummy bear) implants were placed by a different surgeon in 2007. A lift and removal of cysts bilaterally (with 230cc on the left and 250cc on the right) implants placed ABOVE the muscle was done 5-2-2007. Shortly after that surgery the left side started showing signs of encapsulation. About a year later the right side also started showing signs. Massage as well as shockwave therapy was done to try and loosen the scar tissue. Nothing helped. The encapsulation continued to worsen until both breasts were hard and very uncomfortable. Atheistically speaking they looked nice and you could only really tell by touch or hug... very obvious when I hugged someone that they were very hard.
Fast forward to 2015, I'd had enough and decided to bite the bullet and get them redone! And not only get them redone but... go big or go home! Mentor 750cc gel implants with capsulectomy and scar revision was planned with Dr C. Patronella. The pain going under the muscle and additional work needed to remove the capsule and implants, as well as going considerably larger was MUCH worse than the initial procedure of placing 250cc implants above the muscle. It was Definitely worth it cost wise and pain wise. I would do it again in a heart beat! The new size is much more proportionate to my body size and bone structure. And my Fiancé is over the moon happy with the results! He calls Dr Patronella a God. LOL. I will attempt to get preop photos from Dr P as I am doing this review almost a year later.

Hi!! I just read your post and I was in a very similar situation, I am 5 days post op and am really depressed with my results at this point. I had a pretty severe capsule on my right side that took hours to remove now my implants are very uneven - the right side is noticeably higher than my left and every time I look at them I cry. I trust my PS and have my 1st post op tomorrow but right now I'm just a mess.
Hi there, and welcome! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. I hope you'll find lots of support within the community. How did you cope with the pain second time around? If you have any tips to share with others, that would be great :) Can't wait to see your photos!
