Where do I begin....?
In July 2020, I made the most impulsive decisions to get hip implants inserted in hopes to make me more... curvy. I was very narrow in the hips and had previously had a fat transfer that didn't last.
I researched a doc in Bevery Hills (thought I had made a good choice) and had the procedure.
From the moment I opened my eyes in postop I knew I made a bad choice. I caught a glimpse of the doctor walking by me.. and instead of asking how I felt, he rolled his eyes. That is a memory I will always have. I was discharged from the facility and was on my way heal. No follow-up call to see how I was doing nothing.
At my followup appointment, he informed me that I didn't have enough fat to completely cover the implant on my right side. Therefore, I would have a visible implant. He suggested maybe a fat transfer in the future to help cover up with edges to soften the look. However, his plan of care was passive and he didn't seem to care much as far as offering a solid plan. I realized in that moment what the irritated look was about... because my results were less than perfect, he was dissatisfied with me (the patient).
Later I developed a lot of swelling and I was concerned I had an infection. I called and he suggested antibiotics. No follow-up call from him or his staff after that.
Fast forward six months... I had a follow-up consultation with him. As usual his staff was professional in setting up with call (he has great staff). We talked about how visible the implant. At the end of the call he suggested either having a smaller implant placed, a fat transfer or just removing the implants. Regardless the bill would be over 10k!!!!
Dr. Staton may favor or certain type of client and someone else may have a completely different perspective.. but to me... He was the worst when it came to bedside manner. He has no care or compassion for his less than perfect patients. Is will never ever go back to Bevery Hills for a surgery. Please see my next post on the revision process.

I'm getting better and better everyday. I can move pretty much like normal. I get sore amd stiff after prolonged sitting. I still have swelling at the bottom of the implant more so on the R side. I randomly get little sharp pains.. like the nerves are waking up and getting use to the new. I just have to keep telling myself... give them time!

The implant on the right side and the implant on the left is well covered by fat so I dont really feel it unless I really try to feel for it. I am going to need a fat transfer to cover the R side because per the surgeon the quality of fat on that side was inadequate. That, unfortunately, is just how my natural anatomy is.

whoops... i meant to write--- the implant on the R side is hard. The left with softer***

Two weeks postop

Today I am at the two week mark. I'm still swollen and sore. More tender on my L side. I got worried that the pain and swelling increased on my L side I called Dr Stanton and he put me on abx. The area was warm and concerning. I wanted to make sure I didn't have something brewing on my L side. The top of the L implant has meshed in with my natural body the bottom is still prominent (thats where the extra swelling is). On the R the implant looks like it's sitting right under the skin. No meshing or softening.. but also less pain. I feel buttock muscle spasms on the L side. The overall sensation on the L side is different.. almost like sciatica type pain. Anyone else feel this during the healing process? I sure hope I am healing right. At this point in the process I am feeling regretful about the surgery only because I'm anxious about these implants settling. I would definitely not walk around in a bathing suit like this.
