I have a doctor friend who is starting to perform microneedling in her practice and had told me about the procedure which I had never heard of. She said it was good for helping with acne scarring (hyperpigmentation spots, large pores, boxcar and icepick scars) so I started reading about the procedure on this website. I decided to take the plunge and give it a try. Looking up reviews of doctors in my area, I decided to go with Dr. Undavia, whose office is about 1.5-2 hours drive from my house, since he had many positive reviews and experience with the procedure.
Today was my first session. After Dr. Undavia and his cosmetic manager Mishel answered my many questions, I was numbed up with topical anesthetic and had my blood drawn. Dr. Undavia used the Eclipse MicroPen while PRP was applied to my skin. The procedure was not as painful as I thought it would be. In some of the more sensitive areas (jawline, lip area, forehead), I could feel a little stinging, but otherwise it was definitely tolerable.
My face is a little red, especially around my cheeks where the depth was the greatest, but not as red as I thought I would be. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing if I have results in a few months!

3 hours after the microneedling procedure since traffic was so bad that it took me that long to drive home!

Are you seeing a difference?

It is too early to tell. You have to complete the 4 sessions one month apart and then the effects are seen six months out to let the collagen regenerate.

A little redder today than right after the procedure yesterday.

You mentioned having had one session done. For best results you will need multiple sessions 3-4 weeks apart.
Good luck.
