So happy with my Rhinoplasty, & glad I did it finally!!

My nose had bothered me since I was young. It was something I was self conscious about. Dr. Stagnone did a really good job with my nose, and he has treated me very well. He has a professional manner, and I felt comfortable choosing him for the surgery from the initial consultation. He was able to spot all the imperfections that bothered me, explain to me the process of making the improvements, and an expected outcome. It has been a little more than 5 weeks, and I am very happy with the results! My nose gets better everyday, as one must be patient with the heal process after a rhinoplasty. The swelling takes time to subside. That would be a big piece of advice I would have for anyone considering this procedure: be patient. Also, this is probably a “no-brainer,” but be very gentle with your nose post-op. Three weeks post-op I mistaking extracted a blackhead on my nose with too much pressure! Right away there was increased swelling, & this, my nose appeared more like my “old nose” for the next few days. I panicked, and called Dr. Stagnone. When I spoke very nervously to him on the phone, he was patient & helpful. When I saw him ASAP after that, luckily, he informed me that all was well; I hadn’t messed up what he had done in surgery! I have my 6 week follow up next week, and will tell him how happy I am with his work and the results. My nose is very straight now, and I believe he achieved the goal of the surgery! I have kept tape on it religiously for protection & edema control. So, tip number 3: correct and continuous (as much as you can) taping helps! I am very happy and thankful to Dr. Stagnone, all the office and surgery team, my experience, cost (as other surgeons I had consulted with that I didn’t feel that same comfortability with quote higher price), results and professional & kind treatment of Dr. Stagnone and the team! Another note, the anesthesiologists was amazing! She was warm, kind, informative, and most of all, I woke right up when the procedure was completed with no complications!
As far as any more advice I could give anyone researching rhinoplasty: the week or two following surgery, you really do need to take it easy, stay home, lay with your head elevated, and eat and drink well. My black eyes and bruising lasted about a week and a half. Also, don’t worry if after the week follow up/cast removal if you don’t like the appearance of your nose, because mine was still very swollen and that made me anxious. I was afraid that after one week the results I saw were the final results, which was not the case! Another consideration, is that the drive home and next day or two after the surgery were the hardest because you can not breath through your nose, there is some pain, and I did vomit twice on the drive home after the surgery because the tube that goes down your throat during the procedure prevents blood from going into your lungs because you are laying flat during surgery, and there is post-nasal blood drip. Therefore, the blood goes into your stomach, which of course is eliminated with and causing some vomiting. I hope this review helps someone thinking about rhinoplasty or choosing Dr.Stagnone as your surgeon because I know I did a lot of research before making my decisions that really helped me.
