Being a Plastic Surgeon Matters

This is a long-term review of Dr. Ken Anderson. I had my hair transplant procedure with him back when he practiced in Beverly Hills in September of 2004. The results were terrific. It’s been over 20 years, so I don’t remember much of the details about that day, but one thing has stuck with me all these years. On that day in 2004 I was talking with one of the surgical technicians that was working with Dr. Anderson. She had worked with many different doctors over the years, and she made some comments about Dr. Anderson. She explained to me that since Dr. Ken Anderson was a board-certified plastic surgeon, he took twice as long as other doctors to harvest the FUT strip and perform the closure (ie: close the wound with stitches…I had a linear procedure…FUE didn’t really exist at that time). She told me that Dr. Anderson paid a lot of attention to the little details, and performed the best FUT strip removal and closures of any doctor that she had worked with in her career. She said that, in her opinion, other doctors took less care, because they knew that in the end the scar would be covered by hair anyway. What I have learned/observed is that artists and craftsmen who pay a great deal of attention to the details will produce a better product, and that’s who Dr. Anderson is. It’s been over two decades and I’m still very happy with the results of my surgery. If I were approached by someone with questions about this procedure, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ken, even though it would involve a cross-country flight from California.
