Horrible Post Op Treatment- Attention to Detail

I had a very poor experience with Dr. Ziering and his staff. I think it is important to understand plastic surgery in general. There are two types of patients: experienced plastic surgery addicts who and newbies. I am a newbie to the experience and did not care for the experience of the staff whatsoever.
So for anyone considering please review this and take these notes as constructive so you don't make the mistakes I did. There are four stages to surgery: 1. pre (consultation) 2. surgery 3. post - op. 4. results.
Stage 1 - is simply sales. I was excited, nervous, and embarrassed to be there. They did a good sales job, I put down a deposit. Dr. Ziering came in and made a few jokes. I put down a deposit and got a pamphlet about the procedure.
Stage 2- The surgery. I wish someone had prepped me about how it works. Suddenly I met two junior doctors that I had never met before and the technicians. Dr. Ziering was not present and I found this strange. Be prepared for a really long surgery. I thought I would get out around 6 pm but I got out at 9pm. It was truly long. Dr. Ziering i believed popped in once for 15 to thirty minutes. ( it would have been really nice if someone had prepped me about how the surgery works, who these people are, etc.) What was uncomfortable about the surgery is I could hear the technicians talking about how tired they were, how long the day was, how hot it was in the room...and your wondering, oh boy, are they doing this right? Hair restoration is extremely tedious work and my technicians are tired, hungry and hot? it made me nervous and there were no doctors present. ( fingers crossed they did it right.)
As the surgery came to a close and I was drugged out and in pain, I asked them a few questions and their response was, "didn't you read the manual?".. It was strange, my head felt like Frankenstein and I was passing there multiple choice test. i really had no idea what to do.
POST OP- Post OP is the single most important part of the surgery and for the newbie, this is the most important and where you will be the most afraid, nervous and concerned. The treatment here was horrendous, hurtful and disrespectful, and for anyone considering Ziering or others talk about this in phase one!
First, nobody actually told me how many grafts were put in and how the procedure went. All I heard was, didn't you read the manual.
Second, you receive 5 free heat things at the office for your hair and a cosmetic bag. So I came in for the first two heat treatments. I was shocked to see that while I was getting my heat treatments, THE OPERATION DOOR NEXT DOOR is WIDE OPEN and I could watch other people's treatments. No privacy. What if someone took a photo of a celebrity? Hair restorations are ugly procedures and i couldn't believe the door is left wide open for other patients to see.
Third, Ziering gives you a post-op kit. They tell you to spray your head repeatedly for the first five days with two sprays.. When i told the front desk I was low on the bottle and could i get more, they said "no." Only one bottle per client. I had just spent $25,000 on a restoration but they wouldn't give me an extra bottle. Also, when i asked what day the stitches where coming out, they responded, " We wrote it down on your card, don't you have it?". I felt ashamed, like after Ileft the operation all drugged up, I was supposed to remember where i put the card.
Interaction was so bad with the front desk that i asked my girlfriend to call because i felt them so rude.
THE INFECTION- My head felt like it had glass shards in my neck. it was excruciating. Upon my third heat treatment, Dr. Byrd came in and told me I had an infection. I would need to take a week's worth of antibiotics. She then said, ignore the instructions on the bottle and follow mine ...which I found confusing. I was terrified that i had an infection, my body also doesn't respond to antibiotics well, and I didn't know how my procedure was going Meanwhile, I'm low on my spray bottle and can't get a second bottle.
NOT ONCE DID THE DOCTOR, the STAFF, OR ANYONE CALL OR EMAIL ME TO CHECK ON MY WELL BEING. EVEN AFTER THE INFECTION AND UNTIL THIS DAY, WAS THERE ANY FOLLOW UP OR CONVERSATION. YOU TRULY FELT LIKE YOU WERE IN SOME HIGH END BEVERLY HILLS OFFICE FACTORY AND ONCE THE SURGERY WAS DONE, SO ARE YOU. It is almost six weeks later and still no post after care follow up.
Stitch Removal - The stitch removal process is very painful. Not sure why they don't numb you.
After stitch removal, I thought i might do a 4th Heat Treatment. Nobody was at the front desk. i waited 5 minutes and left. I had zero idea how my infection was, no ability to make an appointment, i could see another surgery going on and i just left.
Never since that day did i hear from Ziering's office. i'm a newbie with an infection doing a treatment who had paid top dollar and this was how i was treated. I was upset but it was too late.
i gave them a two star because i hope my hair grows and the scar isn't as bad as i tbink it will be.
RESULTS - I guess results are all that matter. I have four to six months so I don't know. I do know that my head still hurts six weeks later and I'm afraid that i have a really bad scar. Every time i lean my head down, i can feel the skin in my neck. I also will never know about that infection. I did receive a refund on my Amex for $2500 but nobody told me why.
JUNE 20, 2019 I get an office call from the manager. I found this strange. Why six weeks later? He acted concerned now. I found out later that day my girlfriend called and complained. Sad truth in this world that fear is the only way to get a response. He also told me the refund was because they did less graphs then expected. It would have been nice to have been told that after the procedure. Such common edict: Hi, this is how your surgery went, this is what we did, expect this. I hate to say this but Dr.. Ziering and co. is your standard Beverly Hills surgeon who treats their clients with this pompous, Beverly Hills attitude. i grew up in Beverly Hills so this is not an exaggeration but a simple truth. They are so cool and you are lucky to have him type mentality.
I hope the results work out. That said, if you use Dr. Ziering or others, please talk about the four steps and expect to be treated better. i hope they read this and realize the steps to improvement are simple - but if they don't, please also interview other 5 star doctors who charge top dollars.
