Good Dr but Not Recommended for Liposuction
Dr. Kilgo is a fantastic reconstructive surgeon, but I would not recommend going to him for liposuction. I wish I had known the difference between reconstructive and cosmetic surgeons before going through with this procedure. I am 19 and have large saddlebags, so I went to Dr. Kilgo to have liposuction last year because my mother had an excellent reconstruction with him. I felt that I made it completely clear what my goals were, and when I emphasized I wanted to get rid of my saddlebags, he told me that he would but he didn't want me to look like a boy. This had me believe he would be very generous in fat removal. The surgery experience was good overall, but I left unhappy with my results as I felt very underwhelmed. His nurse told me that he is very conservative with liposuction and when I told him I was unhappy he simply said he didn't feel any more should be done. I spent a year feeling like I wasted $7k to just downsize my saddlebags. Now, I am going to revision consults from other doctors to finish this properly. They all explained to me problems from this liposuction- my incisions are poorly placed (could have easily been hidden which they will do in my revision, but now I am stuck with these scars on my thighs), the incisions are not in the correct spot to reach the back portion of my saddlebags, my thighs are asymmetrical, right leg has a banana roll and lumpy (inner & outer), how I should have been turned during procedure, lipo should have been all around leg, how Vaser lipo is more suited than this general lipo, and just that there is still a big chunk of fat on my outer thighs. This really took a stab at my body confidence, but I am still happy that substantial improvement was made on the size of my saddlebags. They kept having me buy products from the Deep Blue Med Spa to fade the scars, which did not work, so now I have to try to get them lasered off. This wasn't a terrible experience by any means, but I just wish there had been a more vivid discussion about results so I could have decided to look elsewhere and not have to do this procedure again.
