At 58, after losing 60 lbs over the last few years my skin was sagging, especially my lower abdomen and arms. I am now almost 6 weeks post op from a TT and arm lift, and 10 days post op from a mini facelift. I am extremely pleased with the results!
The TT was really not that bad. My doc only does drainless TTs which I why I chose him. My pain was pretty well controlled with Percocet . I was standing straight within 3 days and my scar is healing beautifully. My arm lift was more painful than the TT. Around week 2, I started having a lot of pain around my scars as the nerves started knitting back together. It lasted about a week.
I had a mini facelift to tighten up my neck and jowl lines and it has! (I think it is called a mini because it didn't involve my upper face. It was a "real" facelift, not one of those hyped on TV. I have internal stitches in my cheeks and scars well hidden around my ears). The swelling went down quickly, but it comes and goes when I am active. I am really pleased with the results already. I really look a LOT younger!!!
There are 3 things I did that I believe have helped my healing: I started taking Arnica Montana before my first surgery and I have had virtually no bruising, not even my face! I have had lymphatic massages twice a week which has helped with my swelling and scars healing. And I have used silicone strips on my TT and arm scars and they look great! My arm scars are already turning white!
My recovery and results are primarily due to my excellent surgeon, Dr Vath!! If you are considering cosmetic surgery, choose wisely. Do your research. It pays off! Dr Vath also did a thigh revision on me from a botched lipo surgery from another doctor. The results are fantastic!
