I am a single mother of 2 girls, ages 15 & 9. I was a very petite girl before having my 1st child. 5'3" and 98lbs. It was after my 2nd that i struggled to get back down to post op weight of 115. Both my girls were 6lbs, but my little frame made my stomach, flabby and no matter how much i worked out, it was there. When i sat down i had the pooch that was just "there." I debated back and forth for 5 years before deciding its time to feel confident again. Wearing bikinis at the pool was an embarassment.
May 29th, 2014 was my official surgery date, today i am 5 days post op and feel amazing. The first 2 days were the hardest. My mother stayed with me, helped get me in and out of the recliner and stood on top of my meds for me. My Dr and his staff were AMAZING. I had no drains so was able to shower within 24 hours. I am still a little swollen but have been up and walking since day 3. A little hunched over but managed to walk to bathroom, shower on my own as needed.
I do get short of breath and get tired very quick, but so far recovery has been great! I go in tomorrow for my 1 week post op appt and anxious to see my belly button. Lol
Recovery is a long haul, but if you pace yourself and listen to your body, recovery will be just fine.
Always have someone by your side the 1st 48 hours, my 15 year old has been awesome picking things up when i accidentally drop them, lol. I still walk slightly hunched over but bend at the hips, it will help tremendously on your lower back! Good luck to those upcoming surgerys! We all deserve to be happy with a brand new "you" its worth it!

2 week post op! Feeling AWESOME!!!!

Here is my 2 week review! I feel FANTASTIC! I was back to work last week for half a day, went home tired but i needed to get out of the house. I knew my limits at work and my co-workers were very supportive of helping me when needed. I have a desk job, so getting up and walking around a bit was good. I have a very slight hunch when i walk, barely noticeable. My tummy is still very tight but its flat and looks AMAZING! My belly button has been cared for, i was instructed to clean it twice daily with anti bacterial soap, neosporin and band aid it back up. It was black at first, scabbing a bit, now its starting to look like a belly button, haha! I am off pain meds, YAY! Do not even need tylenol anymore! I still get a little tired, but thats to be expected only after 2 weeks of surgery. My incsison is healing nicely, swelling later in the afternoon but nothing too extreme. I am still wearing loose fit clothing, yoga pants or leggings, maxi skirts or dresses. Im comfy and my belly is flat so im very happy. Before surgery i went in at 138 and down to 132. I am maintaining a diet thats healthy and will start walking more next week around parks. Alot of people are skeptical about the decsion of proceeding with a tummy tuck, but i can honestly say my confidence level is through the roof, with an amazing PS the recovery is very much worth the little, minor struggles. I will soon post more pictures. Heres to flat tummies! :)

Congrats! I am a patient of Dr. Vath's too. My TT went great and looks great. I did develop an incision infection around week 3 that was cleared up quickly with antibiotics. Overall I am thrilled with my results and Dr. Vath's work! The drainless TT is the way to go. You look amazing! Again, congrats.

So happy to read about your story and others who have gone to Dr. Vath! I can't tell you how much it helps to hear that people SURVIVE all the steps in the tummy tuck journey. I have not told my parents.. and only let two co-workers know for fear of the judgement and "office talk". How nice for your co-workers to support you through this as well. I work where I need to dress up and where heels, etc. everyday... so I will have to get very creative when I return to work!! Can't wait to see your new pics!
