Lost & gained almost 100lbs 3x's. Gall bladder...
$10,000
Lost & gained almost 100lbs 3x's. Gall bladder removed, 2 umbilical hernias, 4 pregnancies, 2 miscarriages, 2 csections, & a ruptured uterus. On a positive note, I've completed a marathon, 3 1/2's, 4 triathlons & more 5Ks than I can count. Lower back pain, hip pain, & the ever present extra skin. TT scheduled 12/18/14~~unsure about lipo.

Congratulations on your decision!
You sure need a big job to be performed, but as long you're healthy just keep the faith that everything will turn out fine for you.
My advise to you is to consult with at least 3, 4, 5 doctors. Don't settle for just one or two doctor's opinion. You might be surprised how they all differ on their opinion, and keep seeing more doctors if necessary until your guts say "that's the one"!
Good luck :)

Primavera13, are you a doctor? Adding pics of myself puts me in a vulnerable position, but it was under the impression this would be a safe and positive environment for me to get support for a life changing decision have not taken lightly. Have you had this procedure? Do you have some pics to share? Communicating through typing can be easily misunderstood. "You sure need a big job to be performed" was unnecessary. Thanks for all of your advice, & good luck with your next procedure.

Started T25, kinda...
Getting ready for a 5k next week.. Had to forgo my tri bc of having so many things goin on. My hips ache often. I feel like there must be some kind of garment to help take the pressure off. Having to hold a 22lb teething baby on minimal sleep doesn't help. I did walk for 2 hours today, but now I just want to go to bed. Days like these make it especially hard for me to be positive.

Hi Dbnutrition, I appreciate your pictures and the courage it took to post them. I think the isolated comment below was out of character for this site. You haven't written much yet, I've found the more you interact the more positive feedback you will receive. I can relate to you, I have gone up and down in my levels of activity but at one point a few years ago I was a volunteer boot camp instructor. The longest race I've ever run was a 1/2 marathon though and I keep thinking I want to do a tri but I'm scared of bikes! LOL. I hope that I will gain so much confidence after my procedure that I will be ready to tackle that fear once I'm recovered. I am trying to get insurance approval for a breast reduction at the same time as my tummy tuck so I haven't schedule yet but I'm planning on sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas also.

My 1st tri, I ran over a squirrel. Riding with clip-ones 4xs bf riding 56 miles. I'm pretty sure I killed it. :-/ bikes can be very scary. Especially for squirrels in Connecticut.

Agree, most on RS are encouraging and positive. Stick with us and you will find some sisters who have been through this and will share their experience. I myself lost weight, and am getting ready for my surgery, and I am no where near as fit as you are. Could never even run a half marathon, and probably not a 5 k. Stay brave and powerful and continue with your journey, I look forward to following along with you.

Thanks. Being snarky can be my strong suit during certain times of the month...
I'm so scared.

TrX practice day
super, supportive fiancé, who I have had 2 children with, was outta town. He's so helpful with the kids, haven't made time to come back to RS. Haven't made time to do anything at all, except laundry, dishes, meals, keeping small things alive, etc.
took baby to the park to use my TrX. yeah, its cool. Glad it was a trial run bc I left an importantish piece at home. I was still able to do some lat pull ups, rows, and assisted squats. I also ran/walked there and back- 2miles. Last week, I managed to get in some good exercise (walk/jog) almost everyday, if not every other day.
Imagining running & squatting without all this extra skin pulling me down is helping. Overall goal is to get outside of the house everyday. The weather is so nice, I feel guilty wasting it. Building muscle and cardio capacity will only help with my recovery.

Knowing how to do it & actually exercising are 2 diff things right now. I have some great excuses for not exercising all day every day, but even 30 min is better than nothing. I've been doing a lot of dancing. Allowing myself to be positive.

Please keep us in the loop as you get closer to your big day.
