When I had my boobs done twelve years ago I was ecstatic with the result. When I had my first child it was fun to watch my breasts change form perky and hard to fuller and softer and to a much more natural appearance. I loved breastfeeding both of my kids and I would not have changed it for the world. One day when I was breastfeeding my first born I was laying on my side and when I sat up, I felt my right implant slip out of the pocket. Since then I have hated my breasts!!! When I lay down, the right one falls all the way off of my ribcage. With a bra on, my breasts look great, but I dread taking it off. I have a lopsided out of place breast and I had to wait to get them fixed. I knew I wanted another baby so I waited. Once I was pregnant I waited through the pregnancy and 15 months of breastfeeding and then a year for my breasts to revert to post baby. Now, I long for my surgery which is in less than a month. I currently have 390 cc filled to 420 saline and I will be getting 550 filled to 590 cc HP saline, with the pocket being fixed on my right breast of course. I am a little worried that this will make my breasts too big, I do not want to have huge breasts. But I do want to fill them in so that they are not so saggy. Will I get the look I want with or am I going too big? I am going back to the same doctor and I will ask for my before and after photos to share so that you can see what I had before the little guy fell out of the pocket.

Silicone v. Saline???? Thoughts?
boobs911December 2, 2014
I currently have saline implants, under the muscle and I am going in for a tune up in two weeks. I will be getting saline again. My doctor advised me to go with saline because he can fill them up once they are inside me and make sure that they are symmetrical as opposed to the silicone which come in a set size. Secondly, I can go through my old incision which was through the bottom of the areola. Third, he explained that with silicone I would have to go in once a year or every two years to get I believe a MRI to make sure that they have not leaked at all. Is this correct? He said my insurance would not cover it and it would cost me at least $1000 each time. Yet, when I look on this site it seems like everyone is getting silicone.
What are the pros and cons? I understand that the silicone feels more natural, but what are the cons?
Just curious, and I only have two weeks until I go under.

I have saline as well and will be switching to the gummy bears implants. MY PS told me if they were to "rupture" they would not leak into my body. I believe this is true with most of the high cohesive silicone implants. I think the only con's are the silicone implants require a larger incision to insert the implant and cost more but otherwise for me there seems to be much more pro's than cons. But I'm sure you will love which ever decision you make and will look amazing :) Good luck - I will keep you in my thoughts and hope all goes well!

Soooo excited for you!!! Cannot wait to see your update and how surgery went. Are you nervous or excited or a combination of both? Did you decide to stick with Saline? Good luck!!! :)

Sorry I did not respond earlier, I have been crazy busy. In a way it is good that I have been so busy because I haven't had the time to get nervous about my surgery. But here I am less than 36 hours out and I have butterflies in my stomach. All of us go in thin in that we will walk out with our dream boobs but the reality is very different. The more I read on this site the more nervous I get. I see these posts about revisions that go bad and it worries me. I know that the first time I had my boobs done I was very pleased. But the first time my boobs were not messed up like they are now. This time I walk in with a mess. The PS has to fix my pocket and try to make my rests symmetrical. I did decide to go with the saline because it has the benefit of getting as close as possible to symmetry given that they are filled up once they are in me. I am hoping for the best but preparing for any and everything. I am very nervous and excited. I cannot wait to lay down and not have my right breast fall off of my rib cage.
I will keep you posted.

Silicone vs. saline is a personal choice. Your surgeon can walk you through the advantages/disadvantages of each. There is a new option called the ideal implant (saline), leveraging some different technologies to make a saline implant "perform" more similarly to a silicone implant. It is relatively new. I have no affiliation with the company. You may want to look at their website

One day post op
boobs911December 17, 2014
I go in for my post op today and hopefully I will get to see my breasts, I cannot wait. The procedure went well. I was very nervous but the staff helped me calm down. Dr. Chin let me know ahead of time that my nipples might not be in the exact same spot because of the stretching on the skin that had taken place on the right breast that needed to have the pocket fixed. He mentioned the possibility that he would have to d a mini-lift, where he would cut a crescent shape on the top of my right nipple and remove a little skin to pull the nipple up to make it symmetrical with the left one. I was all for this because at the end of the day, symmetry is my goal. I laid down and woke up in the recovery room feeling great. I was not groggy at all. My left breast does not hurt at all and my right one hurts where the internal sutures are. I went home in a bra, I am not strapped down or anything. My surgery was at 7am and I was out of there by 10:30. I was not very hungry but I got some rest and watched a tv show that my husband and I had been saving. We spent the day in bed and I would drift in and out of sleep. I had a yummy smoothie for dinner and then woke up at 4:40am because I have and plenty of rest. I have two kids so to take a day off and lay in bed is a RARITY!!! Te pain is very minimal and I only feel it when my pain killers tart to wear off. I must say I am very happy right now. With the bra on my breasts look fuller but not much larger which is exactly what I wanted. I had been a little afraid of getting a 550 filled to a 590 but what I see immediately after surgery is perfect. I know that they should be swollen at this point so they may even get a little smaller. I do not have to be strapped down because the breast fit perfectly in my old pockets considering that 31 months of breastfeeding had increased the size of my old pockets. All is well and I am happy, now for the unveiling.
