Revision with Dr.Revis - Exchange to XL Implants (Overfilled Saline) with Internal Bra Sutures from 800cc silicone- FL
ORIGINAL POST
I first learned about Dr. Revis when I was in...
WORTH IT$10,500
I first learned about Dr. Revis when I was in Florida 2012 and decided to go for a consultation for my breast and nose. By then I had 1 previous nose job and 2 breast augmentations, my 1st breast augmentation was 260 cc and the 2nd one 525 cc. I wanted to go bigger with my last breast augmentation, but my previous doctor told me that he couldn't fit bigger than 525 cc. Honestly I wasn't happy with the look, size or positioning of any of my previous augmentations and that's why I wanted to go for a 3rd surgery.
The consultation with Dr. Revis went so much better than I ever could expect. He could see and understand my concerns right away, and understood the result I was looking for. This made me feel really comfortable and excited. Unfortunately I had to go back to Sweden since I wasn't living in US at the time, so for that reason I ended up doing my nose and 3rd breast augmentation in Sweden with another doctor instead.
This other Swedish doctor promised me results he could not deliver and after my 3rd breast augmentation to 800 cc silicone, I had to once again start to look for a doctor that now also had to fix the aesthetic issues that just gotten worse in instead of better with this surgery.
By this time plastic surgery had also started to interest me very much, it was in the beginning of my journey, and I got interested in an even more exaggerated look.
The silicone implants the previous doctors had given me, and especially the 800 cc once, were too soft and ended up giving me ripplings since I've always been very athletic and I had no breast tissue that could cover them. I started to understand that the soft silicone look did not fit me and that I wanted harder implants that was going to give me a rounder and more bolt on look.
This time I knew I had no the other option than go too Dr. Revis since he is specialized in overfilled saline XL implants and the internal bra procedure that helps repair aesthetical and medical problems.
After talking to Dr. Revis and his assistant Alex again I got a time for surgery and went to Florida in December 2014. They are really used to handle out of town patients so they help you as much as they can by giving special price on hotels close to the clinic/hospital and to set up a consultation time the day before surgery for your convenience.
I had my consultation the day before surgery and had prepared a list of questions and things I wanted to point out at the consultation. I had through my email conversation already sent a few wish pics. After my previous experiences with my previous implants and doctors it was now really important for me to finally get the look I wanted and also my aesthetic issues corrected.
However all my worries went away as soon as Dr. Revis stepped into the consultation room. Without me even having to say anything he pointed out all the aesthetic issues he would address and what size in cc I could except to end up with to get the look from my wish pics. After the consultation, I bought ScarGuard and SinEcch (both highly recommended!) from Dr Revis’ staff and went to get my prescription medicine so I was all set for the surgery. Prior to the consultation I had already visited the nearby hospital, Broward Health Medical Center, to take my blood test and do the final paperwork with the hospital as the anesthesia and facility fee is paid separately.
The clinic gives you a discount at Hyatt Place in Fort Lauderdale, which is just a 5 minute drive from Broward Health Medical Center were the surgery is performed. It is now a super fancy hotel but besides being close to the hospital, they had very helpful staff, comfortable beds, a small kitchen in the room, free parking, CVS/pharmacy just around the corner and a breakfast buffet (with fresh fruits) served every morning that is included in the room price. In other words it is great for surgery recovery, which was the main reason I stayed there.
On surgery day I came to the hospital and the nurses prepared me for surgery. Right before anesthesia Dr. Revis came in and started to draw on me and explained to me at the same time what was going to do surgically, then I got rolled in to the surgery room. I woke up and the nurses told me the surgery went great and I could go back to the hotel and rest until the post-op (follow up) at the clinic 4 days later.
I had a friend drive me back from the hospital to the hotel to assist and keep me company during the recovery. Prior to surgery we had shopped groceries at the nearby Publix at The Harbor Shops (a mall) and, besides the breakfast buffet (with fresh fruit), we made our own food in the small kitchen in our room so we didn’t have to leave the hotel for the first few days after surgery. I only eat fruit and smoothies after surgery anyway.
Since I increased my implant size a lot and got the internal bra, my chest was a bit bruised and swollen. However, SinEcch did a great job with reducing the bruising and swelling. My back was where I experienced most pain since the skin over my chest was so tight which caused me to not be able to straighten my back for more than a week. I got really constipated too from the pain meds but luckily I had my friend who could visit the nearby pharmacy for me, (embarrassing) but that is what most pain meds do.
At the post-op follow up 4 days later, my boobs looked a bit funny. They were swollen, a little bruised and looked a bit high and square. Dr. Revis told me it was nothing to worry about and that it actually looked better than it normally does after surgery. It would need some time for the swelling to go down and for the boobs to “drop and fluff”.
The day after the post-op consultation, (5 days after surgery), I flew back home to Sweden. It was a very painful 10 hour trip, but I maid it safely home and after that I could continue to rest and recover. After about a month the bruising and swelling was gone so the boobs started to look round and sometime later they "dropped and fluffed" in to place just as Dr. Revis said they would.
The internal bra is sutures in the lower part of the breast tissue in to the chest wall with the purpose to hold the breast up to try and maintain more upper fullness at the same time as tucking the old scars in to the implant crease hiding it and creating that rounded look of the breasts. So instead of going through my old scars underneath my breasts Dr. Revis makes the incision underneath the bottom part of the areola to create less tension on- and stretching of- the scars. Some people think the over filled saline implants look a little fake, which is a matter of taste. Personally I prefer it since I am going for an more exaggerated look and also because i was so disappointed with my old silicone implants that just gave me rippling.
