I would recommend Dr. Revis for any treatment...

I would recommend Dr. Revis for any treatment other than a BA. He is a great Dr, but (following my surgery in 2011) I became very ill with BREAST IMPLANT ILLNESS. The chemical soup that was micro-leaching out of my 500cc Mentor cohesive Gel implants, sent my body's immune system into hyper-overdrive. I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Since explanting Sept/2016 my health is recovering. PLEASE RESEARCH AUTO-IMMUNE DISORDERS & BREAST IMPLANT ILLNESS BEFORE IMPLANTING.

This is terrible! Did you contact the medical board? He botched me also. I hope you're feeling better!
May 7, 2021
He did not botch me. He carried out the procedure with the utmost of care and my implants looked great from the moment he put them in to when I explanted 2 years later. You could not tell anything was wrong but they were making me VERY sick. This is not the fault of the surgeon but the fault of the medical community as a whole. Implants should come with a warning label with a list of symptoms to look out for. They can trigger auto-immune issues, lupus, hashimotos, thyroid-itis, arthritis, weight gain adrenal fatigue, infertility ....the list is long and can be found by searching the term on Google.

Wow.....$29,000? I paid $16,000 to have Dr. Krau fix my botched job from Revis. That's a lot of money for implants!

$30,000 Includes My first Augmentation in 2011, My revision in 2012, My Explant in 2016 and the medical costs between 2012 and 2016 (which was largely made up of treatments and testing at the Nateuropath,....when we realized the medical doctors had no answers.
May 7, 2021
With all of my medical treatments to date, (including recovery even 5 years after I've explanted) I am well over $100,000 in expenses.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Auto immune disease as result of breast augmentation is not in any way related to the surgeon. Dr. revis is amazing!
May 7, 2021
Please re-read the post as I did not say the auto-immune was related to Dr.Revis. The auto-immune would have likely happened regardless of which doctor put them in.

Some of Revis results in the XL augmentation page on his site look badly bottomed out, i dont know why he even posted them. But other than that what caused your implants to rupture? why was there a hole? if i understood correctly. You own boobs look great!

The explant report which was done through a 3rd party at a university in Ottawa said that the anterior wall of the left one had disintegrated and there was nothing between my chest wall and the gummy gel. The right one had a 2cm nick which appeared to have been put there by a surgical instrument when they were put in.
Dr.Revis may or may not have been responsible for the hole in the right one, we'll never know, but he was not responsible for the disintegrated shell. That happened all on it's own. Implants are a class 3 medical device which means they are pre approved for market by the FDA. When implant manufacturers update their product they are not obligated to put it through rigorous testing, they are automatically approved and can be sold to clinics right away. Class 3 designation also means the manufacturer can't be held liable of the "device" malfunctions. Look it up. And also look up class action lawsuits which are currently active in Canada and the USA. There are a LOT of women who have become very very ill from implants and hopefully the manufacturers (and maybe even the surgeons) will be help to account.

Thanks for the thorough response. Now Dr Revis includes the breast implant illness info as a warning to acknowledge when you sign papers in his office. I wish I had adequate breast tissue to have natural boobs. I have a tuberous deformity so basically just a protruding nipple is all I have, Im ridiculous. I haven't noticed on me any of the symptoms, other than some androgenic alopecia that I have which my mom also has worse than me, so it's not related to the implants. Ive had silicone implants since age 18. Maybe it affects some women more than others. Im glad you're free and happy now.

We finally got the results back from the Implant Failure Analysis Company. Both of my cohesive Gel Implants were ruptured. The shell had disintegrated in the left one so that the silicone goo was leaching into my system, and the right one had a hole in it that was 12mm long. There was no way for us to know they were ruptured. From the outside they looked like a very perfect set of DD's. In spite of what we are told, Cohesive Gel DOES LEAK and causes major immune system dysfunction. I am now 6 month post explant and recovering steadily, but for the past 5 years there has not one single aspect of my life that wasn't affected by Breast Implant Illness. There is very little recourse for this type of thing legally as the breast implant manufacturers are protected by a clause in the constitution that absolves them of any responsibility of a failed medical device. Mentor has offered to refund me $3,500. A drop in the bucket to what I have spent to date, and in no way an adequate compensation for the pain and suffering I have endured over the past 4 years.

What were your symptoms with implant illness for 5 years?
May 7, 2021
My symptoms ticked almost all of the boxes (and then some) for classic Bii.joint and muscle pain.
chronic fatigue.
memory and concentration problems.
breathing problems.
sleep disturbance.
rashes and skin problems.
dry mouth and dry eyes.
anxiety.
I also developed a problem with mold and (which i've mostly detoxed from at this point) but it brought on hyperthyroidism, chronic constipation and hashimotos. It has been 5 years since I explanted and although my quality of life is improving incrementally it has been a long hard (and very expensive road to get here.

I don't think it happens to everyone , but I think you look great with or with out them ! Your naturals are very perky and nice !

Thank you for the nice compliment. A few questions we might ask ourselves when we have implants is what symptoms are plaguing us that we might not know are symptoms? And by this I mean, are we carrying around an extra 10 or 20 pounds of weight? Is our quality of sleep slowly deteriorating? Is our energy level 10% lower or our sex drive 20% lower or is our hair thinning at an increased rate of speed or is our short term memory being impacted and we're chalking it up to "oh I'm just aging, this is typical for a woman my age".

I’m so sorry you went Through this I have Celine but since having my implants in a year and a half ago have had nothing but pain and odd illnesses thank you for sharing your story and if I were you I would take the 3500 that mentors offering if that’s the only thing that you can get back somethings better than nothing
May 7, 2021
Thankyou! I did indeed take the money and it's now been 5 years since my explant. I'm feeling better everyday and can only hope that other women learn from the ones who have been through it and don't make the same mistakes. Everyone is impacted differently which is why Bii can be so tricky to diagnose. Saline is just as dangerous as any type of silicone and I hope you were able to take the necessary steps to improve your health.

I'm sorry this happened to you, however your post BA You looked great and look great after the explant many women do not which is my greatest fear
May 7, 2021
Thankyou! My greatest fear is getting sick and not being able to regain my health. I'm 5 years post explant and getting better everyday. I can't imagine the world of hurt I would be in right now if I hadn't figured out the root cause of my suffering.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Silicone Gel. I need to get an implant (mastectomy) and I am going with saline. You know when those leak and it is just salt water. Best wish to you for future good health!
May 7, 2021
It's a common misconception that saline is not dangerous. Saline is every bit as dangerous as silicone as the shell is made up of Silicone which (over time) micro-leaches chemicals into your body. Also with saline the filler valve allows for an exchange of fluids between your body and the implant. This exchange of fluids is how some people end up with black mold growing inside the implant. If you body has been through trauma and your immune system is already compromised I would advise you to please reconsider.
You need time to heal and implants would mean more trauma as well as inflammation. There is a cost to this procedure, your body will be paying for them as long as you have them in and likely for a long time after you explant. Implant manufacturers across the board suggest replacing them every 7-10 years... this is not a one and done type of operation. Speaking from a place of compassion, I wish someone had told me all of this before I made a decision that ultimately ruined my life for a period of time.
