Im currently taking 40 mg 2xs daily of zenatane. Im on a 5 month course. ......on my 6th week. At around week 4ish, i noticed an itchy, dry scaling rash developing on my wrists & back of hands. Some areas look similar to a ringworm so i started using topical antifungal cream. Is this common? Has anyone else experienced something like this and what treatment did you find most effective. Thanks

Welcome to the community, thank you for including us on your Accutane journey. Have you reached out to your doctor about the rash on your hands? I found this FAQ which seems to be similar to your description, but feel free to post a your own question, along with photos, to the board-certified doctors. Keep us posted on your progress, good luck!

Hiya, I'm not a doctor but it seems like some dorm of dermatitis. I have perioral dermatitis on my face just before I started accutane. You might need some topical or oral corticosteriod to get it under control and then start using a thick lotion from then on. I agree with Eva, you might want to post to the the FAQ section or bring it up with your dermo. Good luck

Hi, I'm working on my fourth week of Claravis 30mg. The same rash you're describing developed on my elbows and upper arms last week. I would catch myself scratching in random areas that would later be spotted with small, circular scabs- for lack of a better description. From what I've gathered, these scaly patches are a result of not moisturizing properly. My advice would be to moisturize with Cerave or Cetaphil after showering, while your body is still in the process of drying off. The moisturizer is better absorbed when applied to damp skin. It helps! My "patches" went away :) Best of luck to you!
