Throughout my adult life I have struggled with my body shape and my abdomen. I lost a considerable amount of weight which left me with a large sagging abdomen. I decided to have a tummy tuck to solve the issue. Dr. BItar came recommend to me, he led me to believe that the procedure would solve my my sagging abdomen and improve my looks. What was to be a 4-6 week recovery took 5-6 months. During my multiple visits to the doctor, 95% of my interaction was with the nursing staff. Dr. Bitar would flit in stay less than two minutes. There were even several visits that I only saw the nursing staff. As the recovery time wore on I felt that I was more of an intrusion than a patient.
Now approximately three years later, my abdomen still sags (although it is approximately 75% smaller) and sports a nice scar from a procedure to clean out an infection brought about by the surgery. I am still embarrassed by the way I look and will not ever take my shirt off in public. Initially, I was led to believe that the tummy tuck would give me the confidence to go shirtless at the beach.

I am sorry about your bad experience. Tummy tuck is a wonderful surgery, but is not free of complications. Patients frequently need a revision and in few occasions, even the whole procedure redone. The good news is most of the problems can be solve and you can still have a great shape. Consult a board certified plastic surgeon that has experience with tummy tucks. Good luck.
