Changed my World.Thank You
Mr Demetrius Evriviades is an amazing man and he has turned my life around completely.
In 2012, after a slow onset, I found myself paralysed completely on one side of my face. Worse still with only being able to smile on one side, my face began to look like it was twisted round to my good side. I couldn’t blink my eye on the affected side, so it kept filling up with water causing the skin below to become saggy, and I had to hold my mouth in place when I needed to eat or drink or it would spill out. It had a devastating effect on my life at a time when I was facing a lot of other difficulties as well. I felt like a freak and my confidence was destroyed. As a result, I had a breakdown and suffered from extreme anxiety where most days I couldn’t leave my home.
Then I met with Mr Evriviades who I owe everything to. He carried out a number of operations, the most important of which was re-animation surgery to enable me to smile again. This involved taking a muscle from my thigh and grafting it into my face to replace the damaged nerve. He has also carried out numerous other operations to improve the way I look and make my face more symmetrical, including fat grafting a few weeks ago, to give me more volume and shape where I had lost it on the affected side.
It’s been a long road, but the result is amazing. I look and feel more symmetrical. I can smile evenly and easily. I can eat and drink without having to hold my mouth closed. I feel attractive again and my confidence has grown.
It is so wonderful to smile again, and to feel ‘normal’, and that is thanks to Mr Evriviades. He has been so kind and supportive right from the start. He is always honest with me; Confident; No false promises; Good at listening especially when I was babbling and tearful; Caring and kind. Most impressive of all is his skill in being able to look at a problem and not only work out what needs to be done but have the surgical skills to get the desired result. Truly amazing.
